"Approximately half of my 675 sf finished basement carpet was damaged in a flood.  The "mitigation" company that that dried out the carpet was not gentle with it ripping it up and tearing out padding.  They insisted it was ruined and wanted to tear it all out.  Everyone that looked at the carpet agreed it was a high quality carpeting, but had mixed opinions on whether it could be salvage or not.  The thought of about tossing it out made me sick.  Before purchasing new carpet, I had Langenwalters look at it.  They assured me that they could clean it, and highly recommended that I have Tracy with TW King Flooring Installers look at it for repair and reinstall. Tracy and his crew was able to squeeze me in the next day which great because I was off that week.  He assured me he could salvage the carpet and he did!  There were 4 or 5 guys that worked very hard non-stop for 4 or 5 hours at a phenomenal pace!  The results are absolutely incredible!!  I couldn't be happier with the results.  Tracy and his company save me a lot of money!.

"My technician Joe was on time, professional and did a great job. The cleaning product has a great smell and the furniture looks great. I think they may be a bit pricey (especially if you sign up for the year long service contract) but they do a good job and respond quickly. I would definitely recommend them.

"Everything from the moment we met Paula to the last installer leaving our house after installation went great!, they cleaned up after themselves, maintained professionalism, and made sure we were happy with the finished product. We would definitely recommend them to our friends and family, as a matter of fact one of our neighbors noticed their logo on a truck in our driveway and asked about our experience with them and now they are using Just for Granite for their kitchen counters! We are completely satisfied with our decision to contact them, and would use them again in the future!

"I am VERY picky about work I have done around my house and I must say that Tony and his son did an outstanding job laying the tile.  They were very cautious about preparing the areas outside the bathroom so as not to soil the carpet and flooring in the adjacent rooms.   In one of the two doorways, after the tile was laid but not yet dry, I let Tony know that I was concerned that the gap between the flooring in the next room and the ceramic just laid was too wide.  Tony immediately pulled the tiles up and recut the tiles so there was only a 1/2" gap.  This enabled the T mold I needed to purchase to fit exact.  I would use them again.   "

Floor Cleaning and Waxing questions, answered by experts

Most DIY floor cleaners don’t require rinsing, but you’ll want to make sure you don’t add too much dish soap or oil to the cleaner to avoid having to rinse it after cleaning. For non-wood floors, mix 8 parts warm water, 1 part vinegar, and 1 part baking soda with a few drops of dish soap. For wood floors, use olive oil in that same mixture instead of the vinegar. You can let these solutions air-dry after cleaning your floors with them, although you should manually dry your floors if they aren’t waterproof.

Yes, polished concrete floors are worth it for homeowners who want durability, style, and low maintenance in one sleek flooring surface. You get the modern visual appeal of stone or tile with far less upkeep and far less cost. Polished concrete flooring is tough enough for high-traffic areas, it’s a great choice for people with allergies, and it’s easy to clean. If your existing concrete is in good shape, polishing it can give you solid value that shines on for years.

Clean your vinyl plank floors at least one to two times per week with a broom, vacuum, or microfiber mop. You can save the mopping and disinfecting for your deeper cleans about two to three times a month. Keep in mind that if you find sticky spots, spills, or stains, it's best to take care of them ASAP.

Yes, but with caution. A floor grinder is intended to level and polish concrete, so it is a very powerful tool. To remove paint, the floor grinder should be set to 35 square feet per minute or less to minimize the pressure without the use of pocket weights. You might need to go over the surface two times to get any paint that has sunk into the concrete’s pores.

To maintain tile and grout, clean the surfaces regularly with mild, non-abrasive cleaners and wipe up spills promptly to prevent buildup. It is also important to reseal the grout every 1-2 years to maintain its durability.
