"I needed locks changed on my office. I called and spoke to Garth himself. He arrived at 1pm, after we were back from lunch,as we requested. Garth was professional, well mannered, and punctual. I have a professional office and it was during the business day
so I was concerned with speed and also appearance. He was very knowledgeable as well as friendly. The price was less than I
was anticipating! I will definitely be calling him if I have other locksmith needs. He was done in less than 20 minutes and left me with 3 keys, so I didn't even have to have my assistant run and make copies!
In the past, I've had experiences with locksmiths who looked less than savory. Garth was clean, well groomed, and not a tattoo in sight! He even held the door open for an elderly client.
5 Stars!

"The technician was punctual, professional and courteous from start to finish. He meticulously completed the job and even followed up to make sure that the seals on the door were settling properly. We would DEFINITELY use CREW again based on this experience!"

Locksmiths questions, answered by experts

It is best to use a dry lubricant, such as a Teflon-based option, for door locks. Unlike popular oil-based lubricants, dry lubricants leave a non-stick, water-repellent coating that does not attract dust, dirt, and other debris. Using an oil-based lubricant can cause these particles to build up inside the lock, making it difficult to operate or even damaging the internal mechanism. You can find dry lubricants, some of which are made specifically for locks, at most hardware stores.

Rekeying your own locks is a low-cost task that prevents you from having to replace the locks themselves completely. The first couple of times you rekey a lock may be challenging because this is an intermediate DIY task. You can purchase a rekey kit from most hardware stores, but make sure you’re buying the kit from the brand of lock in your home that you’re going to rekey.

If your door handle turns without opening, the most likely culprit is a loose or stripped spindle. This part connects the handles to the latch mechanism, and when it’s not properly engaged, turning the handle does nothing. Other issues might include a broken latch, loose screws, or even something small blocking an inner mechanism. In any case, it’s usually a matter of tightening, adjusting, or replacing a worn-out part inside the handle assembly—or calling in a professional to do it for you.

Most jobs take 30 minutes to 2 hours, but high-security systems or multiple lock installations may require additional time.

Regrettably, entirely pick-proof locks don't exist unless you opt for keyless varieties. Locks advertised as "pick-proof" are, in reality, more resilient against lock-picking and bumping attempts because of complex mechanisms consisting of pins and sidebars. These locks work like this—they assign two tasks to the key, enhancing security by making unauthorized entry more challenging.
