Eads Roofing is a family owned business that specializes in roofing, siding, and gutters. We are a proud recipient of the 2017 and 2018 Super Service Angie’s List Award, and 2018 Best in Class award with F.C Tucker for the roofing & siding categories. We bring extensive experience and professionalism to every job site and customize our support to your individual needs and concerns. We will not only protect your greatest asset; we’ll make it better than it was before. Eads Roofing offers complimentary inspections and free estimates.

"On March 18, 2021, a hailstorm hit my roof. I was not aware of this damage until someone suggested that I have it inspected. I contacted my insurance company who sent out an adjuster who contracts with them. This adjuster works in the state of Indiana and was familiar with the regulations in the area. The adjuster inspected the roof and determined that replacement was required. He put together an estimate based on normally used pricing guidelines for roof replacement in the area. After obtaining several contractor quotes, I selected EADS Roofing to do the roof replacement. EADS accepted the estimate from the adjuster, and I signed a contract for that amount plus some skylight repairs and an upgrade to the shingle quality. I was told that EADS would not change the price without issuing a Change Order. In their contract was a clause which did allow them to adjust the price to conform to local regulations. Since the adjuster was familiar with Indiana regulations, I did not see this as an issue. The contract stated that the gutter screens on my buildings would be removed and reinstalled. Funding was included in the contract for this. EADS also told me that they would repair any damage caused by their roofers, though some damage to landscaping was to be expected. I signed the contract with EADS on August 17, 2021. EADS also asked me to sign a release for them to represent me to my insurance company. I declined to sign this release as the insurance company was paying me directly for the claim. Only one Change Order was ever written. This order reduced the contract cost because I had a separate contractor remove and reinstall the lightning protection system on my house. Work began on the roof on September 9, 2021, and was completed September 10, 2021. While the work was going on, I observed the roofers bending the gutter screens out of the way instead of removing them as was in the contract. Upon completion of the work, I noticed that the gutter screens were bent out of place and the bottom edge of the shingles were wavy as a result. Upon closer inspection, I saw that the screens were so mangled that they would not function properly. I contacted EADS and they agreed that the screens would have to be replaced. They told me they would have to check on material and labor availability and get back to me when repairs could be made. I called EADS almost weekly after that. First, I was told labor was not available, then materials were not available, then no response or “I’ll check and get back to you”. In early March 2022, I finally got the EADS Production Manager to come to look at the house. His solution was to go back to the insurance company to see if they would fund the repairs. After some delay, EADS sent a revised estimate to my insurance company on April 5, 2022 (but not to me). When I got the revision from my insurer, I found that EADS had not requested a supplement for the gutter screens, but had rewritten the entire contract, raising the total cost by 69%. I did not see that they sent any written explanation for the increase. By now, the spring tree blossoms were starting to fall. Since I have a lot of trees around my house, gutter screens are essential to keep the gutters working. On May 5, 2022, I told EADS they would not have to repair the gutter screens and to send me a final invoice for the work that was done. I promptly contacted another contractor who replaced my gutter screens within a week at a cost that was 23% of what was in the EADS revised cost. I continued to call EADS weekly to ask them to send a final invoice. After I told my insurer that I was not letting EADS repair the gutter screens, the insurer refused the revised estimate from EADS. EADS then sent another revised cost claiming math errors on the first revision. This second cost showed a 38% increase over the original contract. My insurer negotiated with EADS and got them to agree to remove the costs for the gutter screen work that was not performed. The insurer then approved the cost revision and reimbursed me for the difference. On June 24, 2022, I received a final invoice and work completion notice from EADS. This amounted to a 16% increase over the original contract (which had included the work not performed and the shingle upgrade). EADS has sent me a receipt of my payment."

14 year Angie's List Super Service Award Winner in Siding, Gutters and Painting Exterior! Over the years, we at Aztec Siding have enjoyed great success through providing outstanding service to Central Indiana home owners and construction professionals. We attribute this achievement to our excellent team. Each member is enthusiastic about impressing you and dedicated to serving your needs. When you work with Aztec Siding, you can be sure that you will be satisfied from your initial encounter with our office staff as they schedule your free estimate, to the tailored written scope created for you by our Project Consultants, all the way through to the final walk through with our professional work crews. Specialize in full exterior siding replacement, painting, trim, and roofs. James Hardie Preferred Remodeler.

"Aztez representative and workers were prompt and courteous. Overall the job turned out OK and looks nice. The James Hardie stucco sheets and trim were installed in a manner that is much better and should be more weather resistant than original stucco sheets. All trim pieces, including angle cuts, were cut by hand with a circular saw but look very good. Notes from the job that lead to my overall rating. 1) Aztec representative and workers communicated very well with me to discuss and decide on options for specific details to ensure the overall look and appearance was maintained. 2) Instead of removing the old siding, I was talked into installing the new sheets over the existing sheets. Because of this, I asked repeatedly to be informed of any damage or deterioration due to water intrusion (old siding had rotted in several locations) and to remove/repair any damage prior to installing the new sheets and trim. To my knowledge, this did not happen because I caught working covering up one location that needed repair. I was disappointed this was not brought to my attention. Were there other areas of damage that were covered up and not repaired? I'll never know. 3) Job was quoted with 2 coats of paint. Paint was sprayed and completed in 1 day. I asked how it was possible to apply 2 coats of paint in one day without letting the 1st coat dry. I was told, 2 passes with the sprayer was the equivalent of 2 coats of paint. I was not aware of this practice and not sure this really constitutes the equivalent of 2 coats of paint. While I noted that I would hire again, this would only be with closer oversight. The latter 2 issues left me with the opinion that the priority of the workers was to get the job done as quickly as possible with less emphasis on quality of work. While I have given a passing grade, there is opportunity for improvement."

Siding questions, answered by experts

The cost to replace siding for your home is $11,450 on average. But siding replacement can cost up to $40,000 or more, with the largest expense being your chosen material. For example, for a 2,000 square feet house, the average cost of siding materials such as vinyl is between $9,000 and $14,000. Wood siding is a little more expensive, ranging from $16,000 to $26,000. However, for the same size house using brick or stone, that cost jumps to $18,000 to $100,000. When choosing to replace your home’s siding, it’s essential to consider your climate and longevity.

To maintain vinyl siding, homeowners should regularly clean it with mild soap and water, inspect for damage, and promptly repair any issues. Avoid using high-pressure washing and keep sharp objects away to prevent scratches. Check for mold or mildew and clean with a mixture of water and mild detergent. Take preventive measures to avoid fading, such as minimizing exposure to direct sunlight and using color-safe cleaning products. With proper maintenance, vinyl siding can retain its appearance for years.

As stunning and natural as stone siding is, it's not for everyone. Some popular siding alternatives to stone siding include:

  • Aluminum siding

  • Brick veneer siding

  • Engineered wood siding

  • Fiber cement siding

  • Wood siding

  • Vinyl siding

If you want the look of natural stone siding without the high material and installation costs, vinyl siding may be one of the best alternatives. It’s lightweight, low-cost, and low maintenance but does have a lower life span than natural stone.

Brick and stone siding last the longest, sometimes providing protection and curb appeal for 100 years or more. These siding materials also cost more than any other, but the value you get for the money is also superior. Fiber cement siding is an excellent middle ground that’s more affordable than stone and brick. It’s a low-maintenance siding material that can still last for 50 years or longer with good maintenance.

Hardie board is more expensive than vinyl siding. Vinyl siding costs $3 to $12 per square foot, on average, with cost skewing toward the lower end of that range. Hardie board siding costs $7 to $18 per square foot, depending on the style, color, and trim. However, it lasts twice as long and often looks nicer, meaning you’ll see a higher bump in your home value and greater curb appeal from Hardie board.
