"They did a great job of installing entry door. However, the storm door was not put in correctly. Not leveled. They left grout on entry tiles that my husband had to research how to remove. Did not finish the drywall patching or putting the door trim up. the job did not take two days like he quoted it would take. I felt I was overcharged for having to pay for the extra hours. He never offered to reimburse me for any of the issues that I brought to his attention. ?"

"Excellent job! They not only did the whole flooring work at my house, they basically renovated the entire place by installing new trims and painting every wall in the living room, bedrooms, kitchen and bathroom."

Backsplash Installation questions, answered by experts

You can, in theory, tile your fireplace hearth with most tiles. However just because you can, doesn’t mean you should. For example, it’s much better to use unglazed tiles because glazed tiles are more resistant to cracking under extreme heat. Porcelain is more heat-resistant than ceramic, but you can still design the hearth as you like by putting the most heat-resistant tiles directly under the fire and, if it matches your style, add more decorative tiles further from the center of the fire.

Mortar and thinset both serve the same purpose—tile adhesion—but have different compositions and use-cases. Thinset is heatproof and presents a wide range of possibilities due to the added polymers. Mortar is typically used for bonding stones and brick. Thinset is rarely used outside, while mortar is rarely used inside.

Yes, you can tile over existing shower tiles, but it's better to remove the old tiles first for the best results. Tiling over existing tiles requires a clean, level surface and proper adhesion. If the old tiles are in good condition, you can roughen the surface to improve adhesion. However, removing the old tiles ensures a smoother, longer-lasting finish and prevents potential issues down the line.

The best paints for shower tiles include epoxy, latex, or acrylic. Ideally, you should look for paints that are waterproof and mildew-resistant if you plan to paint shower or other bathroom tiles. You can even find waterproof paints made specifically for tiled surfaces, which will be the best option for shower tile paint that lasts as long as possible.

Natural stone tiles are durable, heat-resistant, and add timeless elegance to floors, walls, and countertops.
