"My floors in my kitchen and laundry room were completed yesterday. They look amazing and just what I wanted. I was only very specific about one part of the tile to be laid and they made it happen and it looks exactly the way I wanted. They made sure the cuts were correct before they did them, didn’t waste any of the tile. I had porcelain tile and a glass tile accent strip placed. Not a common accent strip in a floor but I wanted a bright and unique accent strip and they made it happen perfectly. They didn’t waste time, but did take their time so it would look amazing. I’m very glad they were available to do the work. Any more tile work and I will not hesitate to hire them as they did what I asked, for a very affordable price, and stayed true to the quoted price. And they also clean up after themselves so don’t worry about a mess as they don’t leave one. I had to schedule my appointment 3 weeks out from the day of the quote but it was worth the wait."

"AMAZING Job, the entire process couldn’t have been easier!!! I requested a quote from the owner Kelsey and was asking for a lot, 900 square feet of lvp and 600 square feet of carpet including a flight of steps. I was a little worried at first that she wouldn’t be able to handle a task this tall on her own which I expressed, she quickly squashed all worries when she told me that she has multiple employees that she hired from a Veterans job expo. I saw her attention to detail when giving the quote I knew regardless of the price she came up with I was going to hire her company for the job. It was an added bonus when she beat the other 2 quotes I previously received. She treats her clients and her employees like family, the work was impeccable and I couldn’t have been happier choosing her company.. highly recommend McCoy Flooring to anyone looking to update the look of the homes. Thanks Kelsey!"

"Alan was prompt. Did an excellent job in replacing the carpet pad and reinstalling the carpet. His price was very reasonable. We had Alan to come back a few days later and tile a bathroom floor. We had concerns about replacing the tile around the edge of the floor/wall because of the age and the 2" tile vs the present day 4". Alan cut the 4" tiles down to 2" and installed them along side the new floor giving a very professional appearance, We are very pleased with Alan who is a very pleasant hard-working man and his professionalism. We will recommend him to friends and colleagues."

Carpet Installation questions, answered by experts

If you want your carpet to last as long as possible, then yes, you need to install carpet padding. Carpet padding creates a layer of protection between the back of your carpet and the floor beneath it, which decreases friction and reduces wear and tear. Aside from that, carpet padding also helps absorb noise and makes your carpet feel more comfortable underfoot.

Most projects take 1-3 days, depending on space size and complexity.

Berber is a loop pile carpet known for its strength, durability, and distinct looped look. It can be made from a number of different carpet materials, including nylon and wool. However, Berber isn’t as soft as cut pile carpet, so it isn’t the best carpet for a bedroom (although it’s a good style of carpet for living rooms).

With that said, if you really like the look of Berber, you can still install it in your bedroom—it just might not be as comfortable on your feet as cut pile carpeting.

Yes, carpeted stairs are generally considered safer than stairs with hard surfaces like wood, vinyl, or tile. Carpet provides more traction and friction, which helps reduce the chances of slips and falls. Additionally, if a fall does occur, carpet offers more cushioning, which can lessen the severity of an injury. While hard surfaces can look great, they are often more slippery. However, it's worth noting that some carpets, especially if they are new, dirty, or have a slick texture, can also pose a slipping hazard. To improve safety on any type of stair surface, you can add traction treads to increase grip.

Carpet installation typically starts with removing the old flooring, preparing the subfloor, laying underpadding for cushioning, and securing the new carpet with tack strips, making precise cuts to fit room dimensions.
