Hi there! I have about 9 years of experience with home remodeling, house flips, and currently I am focused more on carpentry (custom closets, interior/exterior trim, etc.) and flooring. I am still open to most home repair needs. I am new to Angi, but feel free to check out some photos of my work in the project photos. I am also willing to share more photos. Feel free to email me at [email protected] or call/text at 3179032308. Thanks!

I am a 4th generation carpenter. As soon as I could stand and swing a hammer; I was right there helping my great grandfather, grandfather, and father with everything on the farm and with our family construction business. I am following in their footsteps. It makes me sick knowing these large companies charge what they charge; how can they sleep at night? Yes, I need to be able to provide for my family, but I want you to do the same. I have worked with another contractor since I was 18 years old; he later was our town building inspector. He has taught me to pay attention to detail even more than my grandfathers and father did! He is one of the few guys out there that still does it all, no contraction work. I admire that and do the same. It is just me; if for some reason I need some extra muscle for a job, it is only trusted family who works by my side. I wouldn't want who knows who at my home where my family is; I know you don't either. I pride myself on good and honest work. I do it all; from dirt to rooftop. My specialties are roofs, siding, decks, and remodels. I will not get into something I do not feel comfortable with. You can trust me to always do a job correctly. I went on my own fulltime with my LLC in the middle of Covid in the summer of 2020, but I have been doing this type of work on my own as a side gig since 1995. With the support of my wife, I have been able to make this my fulltime job to support my family.

"They were great. They repaired my deck and added on to it. It looks great!"

Drywall Insulation questions, answered by experts

Structural insulated panels and rigid foam boards have the highest R-value of any insulation that contractors commonly use, with R-values reaching up to around 8.0. These types of insulation are best in extremely cold climates, but they’re generally preferred for new construction, as they can be challenging to retrofit. Blown-in and loose fill insulation provide the next best insulative value, provided the installation is done properly. It’s important to choose an insulation type that meets your needs based on climate, as maximizing R-value may not always be financially worthwhile if you live in a moderate climate.

Freeze-proof faucets can still benefit from insulation, and they will need covers if you live somewhere with extremely cold winter temperatures. These faucets work with a design that keeps excess water in the pipes inside the home to minimize the risk of freezing, plus a downward slope for any water flowing through the pipes to keep moving. But keeping a cover on all faucets, even freeze-proof fixtures, is the best way to avoid frozen and burst pipes.

We do not recommend fiberglass insulation for soundproofing purposes, especially if you are working on a room that’s part of your living space. Fiberglass insulation is dangerous, and the installation process is hazardous. It is also harmful to the environment. When there are so many newer, healthier non-fiberglass alternatives in the market, the lower cost of fiberglass insulation simply doesn’t justify the harm and danger it poses.

High humidity, bad insulation, warmth from sunlight, and poor circulation are all reasons your home’s hotter inside than out. While this is what you want in the colder months, summer can become unbearable if this is a constant. Try to find the cause, but you need to remember that issues like this require a permanent fix (unless you want to bear down during the summer months).

Air duct insulation lasts between 10 to 15 years. How long air duct insulation lasts will depend on the material it's made of and ongoing maintenance.

To extend the life span of duct insulation, consider inspecting it periodically for signs of deterioration, water damage, or general wear and tear. Even if the insulation is in good shape, some homeowners might consider replacing it with newer, more energy-efficient insulation.
