"I appreciated Tracyâ s prompt reliable service. And my ceiling looks great. He has also installed some drywall and fabulously painted several rooms in our house. Our house is older and every project seems to have unique problems. Tracy has tackled each job and the results are awesome."

"Because of the high winds this winter/spring (2016), we had vinyl siding fall off our home and become damaged. I found George through Home Advisor after I had already hired 2 other contractors to complete the work. Both prior contractors dragged their feet taking multiple weeks. After not making any progress, I let them go. With boards falling off daily due to crazy spring weather, I was in a hurry to get my siding fixed. I called several contractors, George was by far the quickest to respond. I had a same day visit, estimate, and he called several hardware stores in the area to finally find a match for our the type of vinyl siding (on the opposite side of Indianapolis too). The next day, he and his employees had already finished repairing our home. I was amazed how quickly they were able to repair our home after my first two experiences with other contractors. He even made a special trip up the same week to repair one additional small piece. I really appreciate how George went above and beyond to fix my house. Best customer service I have experienced with any construction contractors by far. Will be using him for future projects."

"This is a two man operation so sometimes it takes a few days for Jason to respond to text or email inquiries. This was initially frustrating but the quality of work and the attention to detail and professional results far outweighed that. Example: They offered to replace floodlight bulbs under the 2nd story eves since I had no way of reaching them. I bought LEDâ s and they installed them. I also had interior ceilings painted. Same high quality work. Iâ ve experienced nothing but great results and not one complaint. Just be patient with Jason and you will be very pleased with quality work, using top quality paint at a very competitive price. This company is a jewel amongst many rocks! Very trustworthy and professional. I highly recommend."

Cabinet Contractors questions, answered by experts

While a three-inch center-to-center handle is common, there’s no guarantee that sizing will be the same for every cabinet. Different types of handles have different sized holes to attach them and there are lots of different cabinet handle widths and styles. You should measure to be sure you know the size of a handle and to avoid surprises.

Unless otherwise specified in the manufacturer’s instructions, in most cases you should attach the hinges to the cabinet door before attaching it to the cabinet frame. Once you attach the hinge to the door, you can then align it with the cabinet frame and screw it firmly into place. Be sure to consult the manufacturer’s instructions for best practices.

The cost to install a kitchen island can range from $900 to $6,500, with an average price of around $4,800 for most homeowners. The final cost depends on whether you choose a prefabricated or custom-built option. It is generally cheaper to buy a prefabricated island than to build one from scratch. A budget-friendly prefabricated cart can cost between $150 and $900, while a permanent prefabricated stationary island costs from $900 to $5,000. Custom-built kitchen islands average $4,800 but can cost $10,000 or more, depending on factors like materials, size, design complexity, and accessibility.

Whether you install flooring before or after kitchen cabinets depends primarily on the type of flooring you are using. For materials like hardwood, tile, and sheet flooring, the best practice is to install the flooring first. This ensures the cabinets are installed at the correct height and on a stable surface. However, you should not install cabinets on top of floating floors, such as laminate or luxury vinyl plank (LVP). These types of flooring need room to expand and contract with temperature and humidity changes. Placing heavy cabinets on top can restrict this movement, potentially causing the floor to buckle and making the cabinets unstable. For floating floors, install the cabinets first and then lay the flooring up to them. Other reasons to consider installing cabinets before the flooring include saving money on materials (since you won't need flooring under the cabinets) and avoiding potential damage to your new floor during cabinet installation. Additionally, installing cabinets directly on the subfloor might prevent voiding your flooring's warranty.

Yes, stacked cabinets, bulkhead trim, and crown molding are worth it. This look is not only customized and high-end, but you’ll also have the added benefit of extra storage space. And because you don’t need to remove your existing cabinets to achieve this look, you’ll save by not needing to complete a kitchen remodel—which could run between $15,000 and $40,000.
