"When I called, I spoke with the owner Mike and he was very helpful. I explained we had discovered water damage coming in from an occupied basement/bedroom wall and because of mold and health issues, he was here promptly the next day to look at it. We had removed the carpeting and cut away small sections of drywall until we found a foundation crack and a large drill hole with a satellite cable running through it that was not sealed properly. He tested the area to be sure that was where the leak was coming from. He then assured me that the damage looked minimal and should be a simple repair. What a blessing! He also discovered that part of the water erosion issues were being caused by poor downspouts. He called back and e- mailed with a reasonable estimate that day. Due to upcoming rain, he had his crew here doing the job within 2 days. The employees were very polite, professional and thorough. They had to trim out a large shrub and move a lot of gravel because of the landscaping next to the wall. They excavated approx. 24'' down and even with the tight working space...they took care and saved the shrub, repaired the crack, sealed the cable hole and cleaned the area back up. I had such a positive experience and would highly recommend ARW in the future. Thank You!"

"Joe from JMS Drain Services was my service technician who arrived well within the window scheduled service time. Joe came in, inspected the sink to determine how to resolve my issue, took out the tool (snake apparatus) to clear the sink, and departed my premises within 15 minutes. I was pleased he resolved my clogged sink so quickly so I could rest after a night's work. Thank you again, Joe."

"Well, the first time the replacement was ordered it was the wrong one, which of course, delayed the installation a week. When it was finally installed I had to pay an additional $850 for code upgrades. This I was not informed of by Home Shield. Then we noticed that there was water on the garage floor and found that the pipe coming in from the wall was leaking at the wall so had to call the plumbing company back out to fix it. They first tried to say it was not their fault but since there wasn't a leak before they installed they did fix it. I have used Home Shield a few times before and never had a problem. Some of the companies they use are not the best so you have to research them before you commit. I have found HS service to be good if you do your homework. At the end of the day I was without hot water for almost 3 weeks but it was do to the plumbing company they sent out."

Sink Installation questions, answered by experts

Yes, a dripping faucet can increase your water bill. Leaking faucets use up more water than you’d think. According to the Environmental Protection Agency, a faucet that drips once per second can waste more than 3,000 gallons of water per year. If you have more than one dripping faucet, your water bill can increase even further.

A good option for opening up and cleaning a sink drain is to use a ¼ cup of baking soda and 1 cup of white vinegar, along with a rubber stopper to cover the drain while those materials work their magic. After about 15 minutes, you can flush the drain with hot water. In many cases, these materials can scrub out minor clogs and get the drain working properly again. If the issue persists, call in a plumber near you to get the problem permanently fixed.

There are several types of sink drain stoppers, including pull-out, twist-and-pull, and pop-up. Pull-out sink stoppers can be removed by pulling on the stopper until it comes out of the drain. A twist-and-pull design requires lifting then turning the stopper to lock it in an open position and the opposite action (turning, then pressing down) to close it. A pop-up sink stopper works by pushing down the drain cover to open or close the passageway.

Basic replacements can be done DIY, but professional services ensure proper sealing, leak prevention, and plumbing adjustments.

Pedestal sinks are bolted or screwed into the floor and the wall to prevent it from moving out of place. You may have to change or add to the bathroom flooring when installing a pedestal sink if the flooring was laid around the previous sink, not under it.
