"Great! They were unable to get all the way to the street from the catch basin. It was suggested I add a sewer clean out assure all the roots were gone and make it easier for future cleaning. This was suggested in the past, by another company , but the cost was out of sight. This company was very fair in price for both the cleaning (which included the inspection with the camera) and for the clean out installation."

They offered me an alternative for rodding the waste stacks and we are considering it. There was no heavy pressure, just good information and description. "A lot more to discuss about this than I would like. Drain tile construction seems fine, which is the most important part of this project by far! We will learn more upon a rainy season in the fall or spring. Demo was not as clean as we would have liked. We have steel studs in basement, so they pushed out walls to put drains to window wells behind electrical conduit for outlets. This ripped the drywall off of studs and pulled framing away from windows. We had to rerun electricity around the new drains and do some repairs because of this. If we had wood studs, we do not think that they would not have been able to cause as much damage, so this shortcut cost us some work. There is also a small dent in our ceiling on the main floor from when they were carrying materials. Dust was everywhere. They left the door to the basement open during demo and construction so dust was all over our main floor. Also, they mixed the concrete in our garage, so everything we move out of the basement to avoid dust is now covered in concrete dust. This is very difficult to remove since mixing with water will form more concrete. They asked what we need from them to fix this, but we do not see a good solution other than wiping down each individual item ourselves. It's a lot of work we spent a lot of time trying to avoid by following Alex's recommendations. There was a miscommunication and Reliable Basements did not put the new sump pump in, plus the check valves were put 2 inches from the lid of the sump pit leaving the pit inaccessible to us. After several attempts at communicating with them, they responded and replaced it and fixed the check valve placement in a timely manner. They missed a crack in the foundation, but were quick to come out and fill it for the same price they offered during the drain tile installation."

"Mike and Matt were great, they were skilled, efficient, and friendly. I thought replacing an under-mount stainless steel sink in an existing granite cutout would be very difficult at best. I knew replacing the faucet and disposal would be a routine job. I was pleasantly surprised that the entire job went fine and they were finished in 2.5 hours. They cleaned up the work area and hauled away the old sink, etc. I will say that their prices are high, but I was willing to pay for quality work, especially with the tricky sink replacement."

I recently purchased my home and have had several contractors come out and take a look at plumbing issues, F3 was by far the most straight forward and gave me a great quote. They preformed the work professionally and efficiently. Within a day they were able to come out and look at my plumbing and equipment. They were very thorough and progressed through multiple steps of rodding and jetting before finally having to dig in the yard to add a cleanout to resolve my sewer issue. The entire team was contentious and intent at every step. Unfortunately, my 60+-year-old pipes needed a bit more than could be managed from inside the house. Not only were they professional and aggressive in resolving the issue, but they were also very responsive to our urgent needs and showed up when they said they would for every visit. "Due to recent area flooding, this job is in high demand. It can be difficult to get a plumber to respond to you at all, and some are taking advantage of the situation and are quoting high. I spoke with 7 plumbers and got quotes from 4. The price range of the quotes was $4900-10,000, which tells you that there was some creative quoting going on. Essential Plumbing and Sewer was not the cheapest, but was the best combination of price, professionalism and flexibility. Fernando and his wife, Maria (who runs the office) are very kind people who don't mind taking the time to answer your questions. They are good email users, which makes having discussions easy.
This job is a dirty job- your basement is jack hammered, dirt is removed, pipes removed, new pipes installed, dirt replaced, cement pored. It takes 3-4 days. For a job like this you need to work with people you trust and who will take care of your home. Essential Plumbing and Sewer took care to protect our house with tarps, etc, and did a decent clean up job at the end of each day. 
Most importantly, Essential Plumbing worked well with me and the village in terms of permits and inspections, which is essential for me as our village has a cost sharing program for this job which requires certain steps to be followed. It all went smoothly, and we passed inspection easily.

"Our sewer line had severed where it comes out of the house. This caused our toilets to start backing up, so we placed an emergency call on a Sunday. The tech came within about an hour and diagnosed the problem with their camera inspection equipment. It was raining and the tech had to feed the camera line from the cleanout in our front yard, but he was as friendly and kind as could be. Once he had diagnosed the problem, he spent a fair amount of time getting the repairs scheduled for later that day, which involved coordinating his crew, the village, and JULIE, since they had to dig up the front yard to fix the issue. The crew arrived later that day - they were also extremely professional and extremely pleasant to deal with.
While the repairs were very expensive, I was very impressed with everyone from Black Diamond. They seemed genuinely happy to help us with our emergency, even though it meant spending a Sunday working in the rain and high humidity. Since they had to leave the hole open overnight, they were careful to cover the hole completely with plywood so that no one would accidentally
fall in.They returned early Monday morning to backfill the hole in our yard, once the village had inspected the work.
 I will definitely use these guys for any plumbing issues that I have from here on.

"During the major rainstorms we?ve been having, the drains in the basement (both in the laundry room and the shower) backed up. We mopped up the water and cleaned. After that, though, there was frequently a rotten egg/sewer smell coming from the drain. I did some research on Angie?s List and called DinoSewer. When I set the appointment on the phone, Gary asked me when the last time was that the lines had been rodded. The house was built in 1948. I bought it in December 2009. My guess was that the last clean-out was closer to 1948 than 2009. He told me he would rod and run tv camera through the line so we could see what was going on. They were unable to rod all the way to the street due to misaligned/damaged pipes. Gary proposed that they excavate down to the sewer line in the front yard and put in a local access. Then have the inspector come out to approve the work and be on hand to run the tv camera to the street. That way, if there was damage on the street side, the inspector would see it first hand and city would be responsible for those repairs. The contract was drawn up to ?install proper cleanout access in front yard. Dig down to main line, remove misaligned/damaged sections of pipe. Install sanitary tee, pipe and riser, bed all pipework in stone after making proper connections?.once complete, rod and camera remaining line for further problems or defects.? He was clear that they wouldn?t do landscaping at the end and that we would have to keep saturating the resulting dirt pile until it settled. He put in writing a 10 year warranty on the pipework and a 2 year warranty on the rodding. Done. He also replaced a leaky faucet in the basement bathroom (took out the old, went out and bought and installed a new one). The total price (above) included $235.00 for the new faucet. Everything done according to agreement. The entire project took about three days (from the initial attempt at rodding). Haven?t had any back up since even though we?ve had several more rainstorms. There was a rotten egg smell after one of the storms and I called. Gary came right out. We had already plugged the drain (rubber drain stopper) and, frankly, it was working just fine. He gave some suggestions that sounded like more than I wanted to get into. We agreed that, as long as the plug was working, why not? He didn't try to pressure me into any other work. The dirt pile outside is gradually settling (saturate and hoe dirt clumps to encourage gravity to do its work). Very happy with the results and will use DinoSewer for future plumbing work."
