"Mindia was great to work with - we hired him to cut granite so we could fit a larger sink in our kitchen. He came to our house before starting the job to see the granite and area in person and to ensure he could successfully do the job. We reached out to a few other professionals and they all said either it couldn't be done or tried to convince us to replace all of the countertops in our kitchen (a hugely expensive and time consuming project!) Mindia was very prompt in communicating, showed up exactly on time and completed the project in one day (he estimated 1-3 days). He solved a few unforeseen problems on the fly and was courteous and professional the entire time. Highly recommended for any granite/stone/marble projects in your home or business!"

"We needed to have the cutout depth in our quartz countertop increased when we replaced a 2008 has stove with a new induction stove. Maurizio and Juan of Avanti Stone made precise cuts while keeping stone dust complete contained. At the beginning of the work, they explained their process thoroughly. We thought it would be impossible find anyone to come out and do the work and to do it well. We couldn't be happier!"

"I wish I could give this contractor 10 stars!!! From start to finish the experience was excellent. I contracted ZK Stone Restoration to re-grout, caulk and seal my stone tile floor in the main bathroom. In the process, he had to correct a very substandard job done by a previous worker. Z came on time and fully equipped with the tools of the trade. He was extremely polite and professional. He also explained again exactly how he would proceed with the project. The work area was kept neat and clean at all times. Z would pause on occasion to show me the progress of the work to be sure I was satisfied each step of the way. When he finished, he thoroughly cleaned the area and explained to me how to care for the floor in the future. Based on my excellent experience I would highly recommend ZK Stone Restoration for your stone and tile needs."

"Working with this company was incredibly simple. I move into my new home and there were over 20 porcelain tiles that were cracked on my kitchen floor. Luckily previous owners had spare stock. Received quote in a day and once I approved they were on site within a week repair took one day and I am very satisfied with the quality of work. I recommend asking for the grout color seal so all your grout will be a perfect match. Floor looks brand new again."

Stone Countertops questions, answered by experts

There are many benefits of granite countertops, but it’s not unusual for them to have seams—especially if you’re working with small slabs joined together. Seams are common on larger islands where the installer needs to use more than one granite slab to cover the surface. Luckily, because seams are normal in granite countertops, pros know how to hide them properly, so you’d never know they were there.

Yes, it is possible to cover old countertops with new ones. Using a countertop overlay to cover your existing countertop is a good way to get a totally new surface without removing your old countertops. This method can be more cost-effective and less time-consuming than a total replacement.

Concrete countertops usually cost more than granite. The average overall cost to install concrete countertops is $50 to $150 per square foot. Granite countertop costs average between $40 and $50 per square foot. While concrete materials might be cheaper than slabs of granite, the labor costs are considerably higher as it takes more time, specialized equipment and skill to form customized concrete countertops.

No, you should not put a hot pan or pot directly on a quartz countertop. While quartz is generally heat-resistant, the resin binders used in its manufacturing are sensitive to extreme heat from items exceeding 150 degrees Fahrenheit. This can damage the resin, leading to discoloration, burns, or even cracking. To prevent permanent damage, always use trivets or hot pads for hot cookware.

While Caesarstone countertops are heat-resistant, placing hot pots directly on them is not recommended. Extreme heat can cause thermal shock, potentially leading to cracks or discoloration. Always use trivets or heat pads to protect the surface and maintain its appearance and integrity. This precaution helps ensure the longevity of your Caesarstone countertop.
