"I would highly recommend their services. They designed and installed my bathroom, and it has never looked this good. Everything is in sync, from the tiles to the accessories. I'd give them a solid ten out of ten."

"Our basement wall had settled over five inches.  They piered the front basement wall and brought it back up to level.  The basement wall was beyond repair.   They cut a section of the back basement wall and demolished the entire back wall and poured me a new basement back wall.  Great job guys!!!

"My husband & I had talked to 4 other contractors and came to the conclusion that finding an excellent general contractor was not going to be easy. Then John Peters from Alliance Contracting solutions came to give us an estimate. My husband and I are not easily impressed but after talking to John we knew this person was truly skilled at his profession and meant what he said that 100% customer satisfaction was their goal. We hired Alliance and it was a wonderful experience. John and every member of his team that worked on our project was friendly, punctual, efficient, highly skilled in their profession and truly dedicated to providing 100% customer satisfaction. As can be imagined when you obtain that many estimates pricing is all over the place. John's bid was very reasonable compared to some of the estimates we received. I have already recommended Alliance to a friend who maybe needing a contractor and will continue to recommend Alliance to anyone needing an excellent contractor."

"They are excellent at what they do, very professional, and very punctual. The owner Chris, from the beginning, has been very detailed for what work needed to be done, costs of materials, and have been pretty punctual on the amount of days/hours that the work would take. The best part is there are no "unexpected" prices or last minute work which is very convenient!"

Egress Windows questions, answered by experts

The average cost to install an egress window is approximately $3,900, with a typical range between $2,500 and $5,300, though costs can be higher. The final price is influenced by several factors, including the window's size, type, material, and glass quality. Other variables include labor costs, location, excavation needs, and whether permits or a structural engineer consultation are required. The price of the window itself often depends on the number of panes:

  • Single-pane: $100–$400

  • Double-pane: $200–$500

  • Triple-pane: $300–$800

Additional features like window wells or covers will also increase the total project cost. It is advisable to obtain multiple quotes from professionals to get a comprehensive understanding of the expenses for your specific project.

The entire window replacement process, from the initial consultation to the final installation, typically takes between four and 15 weeks. This timeline accounts for measuring appointments, ordering, and manufacturing. On the day of the job, the physical installation takes about 30 minutes to two hours per window. A full-house replacement can take one to three days to complete. Factors that can extend this timeline include the total number of windows, custom sizes, complex window types, second-story installations, and any necessary repairs to existing window frames or openings.

Yes, you can install a bay window in an existing house. You’ll need to have a structural engineer draw up plans to add the necessary support to your exterior load-bearing walls and a general contractor to make the changes to the framing around the new wall opening. This will cost an average of $3,000. After that work is done, a window installer can set the new bay window in place.

Yes, egress windows are grandfathered. However, this comes with some specifications. If you are remodeling a basement or adding a sleeping area, you’ll need to update the egress windows to be up to proper code. But, if you’re leaving your home as is, you do not have to adhere to these requirements.

Egress windows require regular maintenance to ensure they function correctly. This includes cleaning the glass, inspecting the frame and well for debris, and making sure the cover or well drains properly. It is also important to check that the window sills and wells are watertight and to inspect and repair any damage to the window frame or seals to prevent leaks and maintain functionality.
