Rock Solid Builders, Inc. is an outdoor living construction company serving Northern Illinois and Southeast Wisconsin since 2006. We specialize in custom decks, pergolas, gazebos, and screen rooms. We are the largest composite deck builder in our area specializing in both Trex and TimberTech products. Rock Solid Builders removed the old decking and railing from an existing deck and installed Trex board, rails and lighting. The work was done in February in the middle of brutal winter weather. I was amazed that they were able to do the work in spite of all the snow and cold weather. Everything was very professionally done and the finished product was very polished. Their services are in high demand but it was well worth the wait to have them do the job.

Our project started a couple of weeks late due to weather delays. We were kept informed by RSB well ahead of time, so this was not a surprise. On the start date, Jason was here on time to begin removing old deck. We were told a dumpster would be unloaded in our driveway and the new deck material would be dropped off that first morning. It all went like clockwork. We were told it would take 2 weeks to take out old deck and replace with the new deck and it took exactly 2 weeks to finish the project. The construction workers were here every morning on time and were able to work straight though, fortunately no weather delays for our project. Since it was completed in mid-December, we have not been able to enjoy using it yet. But we have stepped out on the deck and walked down the staircase. It all looks very nice and feels nice and solid. We would definitely recommend Rock Solid Builders.

Rock Solid Builders was amazing to work with. We had a screened in porch with windows added to our home, including repitching the roof in sections, and they did not disappoint. They were responsive, punctual, and professional. Their communication was great. They answered any questions I had, and they never made me feel like I shouldn’t be around when they were working. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking to add a deck or porch.

Everyone at Rock Solid Builders was very professional, helpful, extremely flexible and truly interested in making sure our needs were met, The installation started when promised and was pretty much turnkey process. The installers did a great job and were happy to accommodate some minor adjustments in the design of the privacy panels. We are very happy with our choice of Trex (vs wood) and are glad we decided to work with Rock Solid Builders.

Great experience....deck was built as proposed. They showed up on time for the scheduled estimate and during the actual build. Very responsive to phone and email messages. We had a small issue with a cracked board right after installation and they promptly replaced it to my satisfaction. I would use them again and will recommend them to family and friends looking to have similar work done.

Overall a great experience working with Rock Solid Builders as they demo'd two old wooden decks and constructed a new TREX deck for my mom. Scheduling with RSB was a bit difficult as their work is heavily affected by Chicago's weather. If a homeowner is ready to have a deck built - I suggest start scheduling with RSB 8 to 10 months ahead of an expected completion date. The site team took a good 2 - 3 weeks to finish off the deck and there were several issues that occurred during the build. All of the issues were eventually resolved, but I am a firm believer in that they could have been avoided if the right choices were made before a task was started. As a homeowner - it's good to be engaged and involved and question things that don't look right. Do not expect others (site team, village inspectors, etc.) to catch mistakes or question installations. I appreciate the time RSB took in building my mom's deck and she's happy and thrilled over the new deck. I do recommend RSB as a deck builder, but be prepared to double check their work for them - not a negative comment (just helps to have a second set of eyes to double check someone's work).

RSB did a fantastic job. The crew (Sean was the master carpenter) was clean, polite, and professional. The crew obviously takes pride in performing good work, and it shows in the end product. Even though we built the deck in winter - the crew navigated freezing temperatures and snow like it was any other job - I wish all contractors did work like RSB!

First time I contacted Rock Solid Builders about four years ago. Estimate was done as promised,but I decided not to do anything ,because I didn't know much about Trex and I did not wanted spent all that money before. I was wrong. In four years my existing deck looked so bad that I was afraid to walk on it. I contacted Rock Solid builders again. And what a surprise. They even had mine blue print and estimate from four years ago. But I asked of them for a new estimate and of course they did, because I needed to do extra work. Owner Butch is very professional and knowledgeable in his business. New estimate was done on time as promised. My only question was when they can start project. Office manager Laura J. explained all process and I had only to pick a Trex color. Rock Solid builders got all necessary permits, materials and etc. Scheduling was made easy and communication was constant and transparent. Employees worked efficiently, professionally, and made construction of the new deck well. They know how the job needs to be done well. Employees also cleaned up after themselves really well. Our new deck now has rails, post, and of course new board flooring that will last indefinitely. Thank you Rock Solid for doing quality and efficient work.

We cannot begin to tell you how extremely pleased we are with our new deck. The entire process from proposal to completion of the work was outstanding. We were kept informed about scheduling as we waited for the work to begin. Rock Solid was always responsive to any question we asked. All permits were secured by Rock Solid so we had no worries about them. The crew arrived on schedule and on time, every single day of the project. Before leaving for the day, they made sure all debris was removed from the job site. The quality of work by Sean and Dan (our crew) was second to none. During every step of the demo and construction the attention to detail and craftsmanship of the work absolutely blew us away. Sean and Dan made sure it was perfect and did not move on until it was. They worked in very cold and damp conditions, but never wavered from their ultimate goal of perfection. The deck is magnificent and the quality of both the Trex products used and the carpentry skills used to put it together is very evident. We can see why Rock Solid has received so may service awards. They work extremely hard to make sure you are completely satisfied and are certainly deserving of all the rewards. It was an absolute pleasure working with Rock Solid. They are a first class company, utilizing expert craftsmen and superior construction techniques to make your project spectacular.
