Our lake fluctuates in height significantly during the year and we wanted the repairs done in the fall because the lake was low. In fact, in October of that year, the seawall was exposed all the way down and it would have been a perfect time to repair cracks that were in the seawall. Due to scheduling conflicts, Dan wasn't able to get us in in October and it got too cold in November to pour new concrete. Dan and I agreed that the work would have to wait until the spring. The problem with waiting is that the lake level went up a lot and the bottom foot of the seawall was now covered with water. Because I wanted the lower damage to the wall to be repaired, Dan had to modify his estimate to include building an abatement wall and applying an epoxy coating to the wall to fix the cracks. The water abatement wall was not in Dan's wheelhouse and ended up not working at all, so we weren't able to get the lower cracks fixed. Dan poured us a very nice cap to the seawall and widened it so that it could be walked on. He also created a notch for our pier to be mounted in. He was able to fix a couple of heavily damaged spots above the water line and one significant crack in the seawall. The problem is with the cracks that he wasn't able to fix. Those cracks propagated up into the new cap almost immediately which is unfortunate. Overall, Dan has extremely good pricing and his flatwork looks excellent. I'm disappointed that the repairs didn't take place when the water level was low enough because it diminishes what would be an otherwise beautiful job. The quality mark is really a B+ or an A-, but Angie's List doesn't allow those. We have patio and driveway work that we will definitely have Dan do when the time comes, so this overall B review isn't really as negative as it might seem. I think dealing with the water was probably too much for Dan, but everything else is fine. I would recommend Molnar Construction for your concrete work. My neighbor had gotten a price to do a brick paver patio from Arrowhead Brick Pavers. I called up, and made an appointment with Jim, one of the owners a year ago. Jim walked us through all of the selections in the Unilock catalog. Unilock has come a long way with their products, and there were a variety of great looking options to choose from. Jim drew up a plan for the new patio, and priced the work. Surprisingly it was not too much more than a new wood deck, and I will never have to stain it again! We called Jim back a year later. He held his price, and we negotiated a few other small items. I work in construction, and one problem I have always had with residential contractors is scheduling, showing up, and staying through completion of the work. Arrowhead calls you to schedule the work, and they call and notify you if they need to leave or won't be showing up do to rain etc. Jim has a smart phone and we stayed in contact through texting and phone calls. I felt that there was terrific communication through the whole process. I would say I was a difficult client, and Jim worked with me through completion. Arrowhead has a 3 year warranty. Our job is finished and we are very pleased. I plan to do the driveway and walkup in brick pavers in a few years and will use Arrowhead again. Give them a call. I've dealt with enough service providers to know that when someone with 20+ years of experience comes out quickly, after hours to provide the quote, then follows up and does great work that they are worth referring to others and I've already done so. The work is perfect, even on large windows and we have cats, so I was worried about hair messing up the films, but no defects to be found. We have lots of west-facing windows, including a very large patio door. I needed some relief with the heat and the damaging UV rays. In response to company: apparently your map reading skills preclude you from properly reading a map so let me fill you in ruskin is in southern hillsborough and your deal said it covered hillsborough in the FINE print, the when clicking on the deal it doesnt take you to your companies main page nor would i because i got all the information i needed from the fine print of the deal. However i noticed that you removed that statement from your fine print good for you to stop the confusion as for your comment a simple sorry we will remove that as it is misleading aka false advertisement would have sufficed your whole statement was incorrect and childish just goes to show what kind of PROFESSIONAL company you are. Btw i have copied your response in case you try to change it Seems i was right to rate your professionalism a F
Dear Member, If you had simply read the areas of our service coverage on the Angies List home page, before you hastily bought the Angie's List service deal you would have discovered that it clearly states that we do not cover Eastern Hillsborough County. As far as your purchase of the $ 49 dollar service tune up offer, Bay Area Heating and Cooling have no control of that money, you paid Angies list direct and you have to contact Angies List to receive a credit/ money back As far as your comment if you are a lawyer on the outskirts of Hillsborough county then buy one of our deals I find this outlandish, we service all customers in our service area regardless of there careers and yes we also service lawyers. You may want to consult a lawyer before you make any further purchases online and allow them to actually read the terms of your purchases as to relieve you of any further stress or embarassment Thanks and as always have a great DAY :-)"},"url":"https://www.angi.com/companylist/us/fl/largo/bay-area-heating-and-cooling-inc-reviews-198308.htm"},"position":10}]}
Patio Cover Service reviews from real Angi homeowners in Utica, IL
I hired Altered Surfaces to stain and seal my concrete basement floor. He came out in May and said he'd do the floor for $2500. A few weeks after the floor was done, it started cracking, peeling and bubbling. I contacted Altered Surfaces regarding the problem. He said it sounded like MVT...
They did a fantastic job. No issues. Patio looks great and the workmanship was great! I will definitely use them again in the future.

"Unprofessional, untimely, poor workmanship, stressful experience. Shawn did a LVP flooring install on two levels of my house, including the kitchen. Almost $8K for 1K SF. Flooring failed 1st time due to no subfloor leveling despite me asking twice if it was needed. 24 planks in 600 SF were separating in 2 weeks. Once I informed Shawn the floor was failing, his workers tried accessing my garage without permission to get tools. Seemed like they were trying to split on a bad job. Despite the bad job done, I worked with him on cost-effective products to try and save as much money as possible on the rework. Both levels of flooring had issues, but I only asked for main level to be redone. Ultimately, it took 4 months of poor communication and terrible customer service to finally get new flooring installed, still not level but holding????! Ultimately, the new flooring installed was left unfinished, leaving me to install trim, transitions, end caps, stair nosing and caulk on my own."

FAQs for patio cover service projects in Utica, IL
While the terms deck and porch are often used interchangeably, they are two distinct home features. Porches offer a roof that protects from the elements when coming and going from the house. Generally, porches are on the front of your home. On the other hand, decks are generally built in the backyard of a home and offer no roof or protection from the elements, like rain or snow. Porches typically require less maintenance and upkeep thanks to the roof, but both features require regular cleaning and repairs to maintain good condition.
The cost of an awning is $1,400 to $4,400 on average. However, this cost could be as low as $100 or as high as $7,500, depending on a few factors. The type of awning you choose, the size you need, and your location all affect your overall cost.
For example, portable awnings you can put up and take down yourself range from $100 to $400, whereas motorized awnings are more luxurious and cost between $2,000 and $3,500.
The cost to build a deck is $8,025 on average. However, this cost can range anywhere from $1,500 to $22,000, depending on multiple factors, such as size, materials, and deck type. You can expect to pay $30 to $60 per square foot when building a new deck.
Cedar decks are often the most cost-effective option, ranging from $4 to $9per square foot for materials. However, pressure-treated decking, which is resistant to rot, is more expensive, ranging from $15 to $25 per square foot for materials.
Awnings are either fixed or retractable and can be paired with a variety of cover materials. Fixed awnings are a permanent outdoor feature of a building. These are highly durable and require ongoing maintenance. Once installed, the position of this awning cannot be changed.
Retractable awnings are more popular than fixed awnings since the cover can open and close. This allows homeowners to open and close the awning, depending on the weather. When not in use, it can be closed to allow for extra space.
Besides the type of awning, you’ll need to choose the type of cover. Your awning installation professional will review your options with you, including availability and costs. The types of covers you can choose from include:
Wood, which is durable but can be damaged easily by rainwater and fire
Cotton offers flexibility, weatherproofing, and easy cleaning
Canvas is highly durable and is a good choice for retractable awnings
Metal is sturdy but is prone to rust
Polyester is easy to clean and is a more breathable option
Polycarbonate is highly resistant to UV rays and is difficult to damage
