"A great experience! Doug's awesome and I would definitely hire him again. The entire process, from choosing the blinds to getting them installed, was easy as could be. The new blinds look great and are a major improvement over our old window treatments. Doug noticed a manufacturer error on one of the blinds and made sure they corrected it. I might've been able to live with the error, but he said he couldn't. I really appreciated that. Not his fault at all, but he made it right."

Window Treatments questions, answered by experts

There are a few reasons your crank windows might not close. First, determine if your window crank is working properly and opening and closing the window when you turn it. If it’s not, the crank may need replacing, cleaning, or lubricating. Another reason your windows aren’t closing could be dirt and debris in the window hinges or sash. Finally, make sure your window lock operator is set in the unlocked position and isn’t blocking the window from fully closing. If you’re still having trouble closing your window, it may be worth consulting a local window contractor.

Look for stickers at the top or inside of the frame, like in the tracks when the window is open. Some brands also stamp their name onto the frame itself or place it between the panes of glass, although this is less common. If you can’t find the info on the window itself, consider asking your neighbors or HOA.

Regular cleaning, non-abrasive cleaners, and scheduling professional services every few months help maintain clarity and shine.

Yes, replacing windows can boost your home’s resale value by improving its curb appeal, energy efficiency, and comfort. The return on investment (ROI) varies depending on the types of windows you install, but most homeowners see an ROI of around 60% to 70% of the cost of the window installation, according to the Remodeling 2024 Cost vs. Value Report

A double-hung window features two operable sashes, meaning it has an upper window part and a lower part that can both open to let in fresh air. A picture window has one fixed glass panel that doesn’t open. Double-hung windows cost about $200 to $2,500, while picture windows cost about $200 to $1,900.
