"Adrian arrived right on time and explained that he would be doing by himself. He surveyed the house where the intake and vents were located and proceeded to hook up the giant vacuum outside the house running the giant tube through our basement window. He also cleaned out each vent on the outside and inserted a whip that was inserted into each open vent that knocked the dust and dirt out of the system and took it to the giant vacuum bag outside. He showed us before and after pictures. Adrian did a great job!"

"I have used Home Comfort on prior occasions to service my old furnace - they had replaced the capacitors and the main blower fan but on the most recent issue, the secondary fan went out. Rather than have it repaired (and seeing the number of repairs increasing each year), I decided it was time to replace the old furnace with a new one. I got a quote from Home Comfort for a new American Standard Gas Furnace with a 95% efficiency - it was scheduled for a Saturday. The serviceman was at my house at the time scheduled and had the entire work completed in about 4-5 hours. He was helped whenever necessary by an additional helper. They took the old furnace out and disposed of it and got rid of the packing material that the new furnace came with. It has been about 2 weeks now since the furnace was replaced and I have had no issues with the new furnace at all - it was done right the first time around. I would have no hesitation recommending this company for repairs and installation of HVAC systems."

"Had a major problem with my rug. The vacuum cleaner belt broke and melted. I had black spots all over my rug. He came over on a Saturday spent a lot of time and did a great job."

"Went okay. Based on some of my past tuneups, I felt like the tech could have done a little more. For example, tech had no vacuum to clean the bottom of inside the furnace. I am not sure he did any cleaning of the INSIDE of my central air unit either, but he did a great job using the hose to clean the side vents, etc., with the garden hose. Also not sure if he ever used that device with the hoses and gauge usually used to check pressure or is it Freon? For $89.95 for each (central air and furnace), I expect a super thorough job. I can’t get around these tuneups or I will void my warranty. I want to feel uber confident I am getting my moneys worth. Tech was super nice and very professional!"

"Gentlemen arrived promptly and got right to work vacuuming and cleaning overhead air vents. He described quality of each one as he worked on it. Did not use brush since vents would have been scratched due to the material. I appreciated that."

"Francisco and his team (Ralph) did absolutely great work. If you are reading this review, book them. Your search for an HVAC contractor can stop here. I am a new home owner and had a lot of questions about my home. I am an engineer and wanted to understand the exact details of the repair.. They took the time to answer all of my questions, I had a few HVAC contractors estimate the work and they were the only ones that did not try to upsell. They explained the work to be done before and during the job. Afterwards they gave recommendations about future work that I plan to do. I would absolutely do business with them again and you should too. Note: I have no relation to them at all. I did not know the two of them before this job. I would absolutely do business with them again should their services be needed. It was a pleasure learning from them and they did quality work repairing the original issue they were contracted for. Additionally, they went above and beyond the contract to fix several other issues that occurred / were found during the job. This is the team you want to hire for your HVAC needs. They were fast, did quality work, were on time, had solid communication, and were reasonably priced. Francisco / Ralph, if you you ever need a referral, let me know. Again, great work guys. 10/10"

"The installers/technicians did their absolute best for us. They selected the right furnace to meet our needs and corrected any venting and conduit problems they encountered. They went over and above our expectations to make sure the conditions that caused our old furnace to fail would not happen again. I will recommend Midwest Climate Control to all my friends."

Central Vacuum Systems questions, answered by experts

If your central vacuum has lost suction, you probably have a clog in the system. You can remove a clog yourself using a portable vacuum cleaner or central vacuum maintenance sheets. Stubborn clogs or damage to the system require a specialized technician to repair.

Regular cleaning, sealing, and inspections help identify problems early and maintain aesthetics.

The disadvantages associated with central vacuums start with cost. They are expensive to install, especially in existing homes, as retrofitting requires opening walls. The system's bulky hoses can also be inconvenient to maneuver and store compared to portable vacuums. Additionally, repairs may need professional service, adding to maintenance costs. Lastly, while powerful, they may be overkill for smaller homes or apartments, making the investment less practical for some households.

It can be difficult to know right away if your central vacuum is clogged since it operates quietly compared to regular vacuums. However, there are a couple of signs you can look for. If you feel like it’s losing suction or isn’t cleaning effectively, then there’s likely a clog somewhere.

Make sure you turn the vacuum on and feel the end of the hose handle. If you don’t feel any suction, then you’re dealing with a clog in the hose. You can see if the clog is further down in the system by attaching the hose to each outlet until you find the one with the least amount of suction.

While caulking is handy for quite a bit of jobs, it’s still limited. Any crack or gap larger than 1/4 inch is best left for a more intensive repair job. When you hire house painters, they should run a thorough check to see what they need to repair before they start the job.

Large repairs that caulking typically won’t do well with include cracks or holes larger than a 1/4 inch, rotted wood, or metal surfaces, such as garage doors.
