"I had an appt. set up that I couldn’t make an made an attempt to cancel prior. The day of I received a text asking if we were still meeting today. I texted back saying I thought I had canceled but could not meet that day. I received 2 texts back that were not professional, the 2nd text stating I should be more responsible. I waited 2 days and called the guy back (Rick) and discussed the situation. I did ask him if that was an appropriate response he provided and he said probably not. I then hung up. I received more texts back that were not professional so I called again to talk to him. He states he never received a cancellation from me but I did make an attempt at the number I thought was his. I’m not sure what happened and I asked him if he was so desperate for work that he treats all cancellations like this. Rick was really only interested in letting me know how irresponsible I am. That’s his end game. That’s the message he wanted to hammer home to me. He said he wasn’t on his way when he called the day of to confirm so I’m not sure what his issues are but he really likes to play the irresponsible customer angle. I would avoid this business at all costs, you never know what kind of text/call, etc. you will receive, unless you prefer to deal with junior high school behavior. With this type of mindset, you probably don’t want him in your home either."

Like nearly any other upgrade, new and improved kitchen cabinets can increase your property value and make your home more attractive to potential buyers. After all, the majority of home buyers consider the kitchen to be one of the most important rooms in the house. New melamine cabinets can be a big plus, particularly if you select a classic wood grain or another light neutral color that provides a blank slate for other design elements.

It is much cheaper to buy and install a prefabricated kitchen island than to build one from scratch. The most budget-friendly option is something called a prefabricated cart, which can be placed instead of installed. These units cost anywhere from $150 to $900. Prefabricated stationery islands are permanent fixtures and cost $900 to $5,000. Custom-built kitchen islands cost an average of $4,800 but can cost $10,000 or more. 

The designs are different enough that a conversion would mean more or less fully replacing cabinets to switch between the two. However, if you really like the frameless look but you have face frame cabinets, you may be able to mimic the style by replacing your cabinet doors with full overlay ones.

If you’re brave enough to tackle building your own cabinet bases, you’re brave enough to install them yourself. You’ll need a stud finder to get you started, but the installation will be a breeze if you’ve already done all the hard work to build the cabinet bases yourself. If you’re hanging upper cabinets, you’ll need a helper, though, to balance the weight of the cabinets and make the process easier.

Unless otherwise specified in the manufacturer’s instructions, in most cases you should attach the hinges to the cabinet door before attaching it to the cabinet frame. Once you attach the hinge to the door, you can then align it with the cabinet frame and screw it firmly into place. Be sure to consult the manufacturer’s instructions for best practices.
