Custom Remodel

Paul Barton's (owner) work demonstrates his commitment to perfection and customer satisfaction. ALL of the cabinets were both built by and installed by Paul himself, who came out on several occassions to ensure we were in agreement on the layout and specific cabinet style requested for each piece. He also met our timeline, which was especially challenging (between Thanksgiving and Christmas).
The great thing about using Paul is that he can do whatever you want (he never once said no or complained about what we wanted). We had some very specific requests, dimensions and layout ideas (all of which Paul accommodated or provided a better solution to). There were changes we requested throughout the build, which Paul accomodated as well (without changing his price). 
The kitchen and laundry room are exactly what we wanted, at a lower price than we were able to find at any retailer or through any other contractor (we looked at a lot of places), plus Pauls' cabinets are all solid wood (3/4" boxes vs. partical board), were INSET (typically much more than regular cabinets), certain of them were painted (we could pick ANY color at Sherwin-Williams), the island was stained, some doors had glass, while others were wood. The INSET doors all line up PERFECTLY, if you know about cabinets, this is especially challenging. All of the other contractors who did work at our house after Paul (countertops, general contractor, tile guy, appliance guys) were equally impressed with his work. 
Paul is also very clean and my wife and kids felt very comfortable around him and his assistant. Other places may provide fancier drawings or brochures (Paul drew our kitchen layout and dimensions with a pencil and notepad as we decided what we wanted), but don't let that get in your way of using him. He also provided us a quote on the spot and stuck to it. While it is a semi-leap of faith to pay someone 50% up-front several months in advance, I would do it again in a heartbeat.
If I had to guess, probably 95% of Paul's work comes from referrals and word-of-mouth of actual customers and their friends who see his work at their house, which isn't a coincidence. If you're lucky enough to stumble across Paul (he's low key) do yourself a favor and get in the queue.  You won't regret it.

Paul is wonderful to work with. I have already referred him to several people. Not only were his cabinets less expensive than the kitchen and box stores where we received bids, we received better quality cabinets with more options. Selecting Custom Remodel to do the cabinets for our new home was the best and easiest decision we had to make. Paul is easy to work with and always pleasant to be around. We can't say enough good things about Paul or the beautiful, quality cabinets he made for us!!!

This is Paul's second project at our home.  His first project was the laundry room (which was really a test run at who we would hopefully hire for the larger kitchen project).  Paul stayed true to his bid and was easy to work with on minor changes.  Major changes were negotiated and Paul was fair to work with.  In the days of CAD (computer aided design) we were stretched outside of our comfort zone with Paul's hand drawn designs.  We were confident that he had what we were looking for... but had we not had the positive experience in the laundry room we NEVER would have been able to take the leap on such a large project.   That said, we are so happy that we did.  The benefit of using Paul was he could easily incorporate changes that many of the large firms would struggle with.  The best example of this was the custom fireplace mantel that Paul did.  Originally the mantel was going to be a separate piece; however, after the cabinets were in (and before the mantel was made) we asked him to make it look like it all went together...and he did.  
After the cabinets were done, we hired Paul to do all of the trim work in the home.  We did not want the standard "big box" base moulding and trim.  Paul custom made all of the trim and moulding in the areas we renovated.  It looks great.
My wife is a self proclaimed neat freak.  Paul kept the site clean and overall did a nice job keeping the mess to a minimum.  Paul has an easy going laid back personality and was easy to work with.  He was consistent about laying blankets and mats to protect the new hardwood floors.
If you are looking at custom cabinets...talk to Paul.

I was really impressed with his attention to detail and certainly the quality of the finished product and installation.
His challenge was to match the existing cabinets which are 23 years old and the original manufacturer is no longer in business.  The big box retailers have limited range to match existing cabinets and we did not want to do a full remodel.
We are very pleased with the final result and have recommended Paul to our family and friends.
His pricing is very fair considering the quality.  I would have to say that his cabinets are a better quality product that the original cabinets in our home.

Paul was a pleasure to work with. I had seen his work in another house and was impressed. He came to my house promptly after I contacted him and worked within a tight deadline.  He carefully measured and gave advice on wood choices and stain choices. There are a lot of choices, so I had a hard time selecting, but in the end, we have a vanity that I love! (I wish Angie's List allowed photo attachments!)  I had a chance to visit his shop and was impressed with the scale of work that he does. While his prices are higher than store-bought, pre-fab cabinets, it is because of the quality and craftsmanship. It is well worth it, if your budget will allow it.
We ended up with a beautiful, warm, medium maple vanity cabinet. It is solidly built and we look forward to using it for years. We will be calling Paul when we need new kitchen cabinets.

He got back to me very quickly. He works quickly but he is a perfectionist. His prices were very good. It is beautiful. I recommend him to everyone.

We are very pleased with our work with Paul at Custom Remodel.  He was the easiest part of our laundry room renovation.  He was a good listener and was able to grasp the vision we were going for with a simple drawing.  We had a mis-understanding with some of the cabinet doors and Paul was a stand up guy and made it right.  We had not realized the problem until he was already gone and the final check had been written.  Paul wanted happy customers and came back and fixed the issue.  If you need some custom cabinets give him a call.  See attached photo from the project.

Paul did a fabulous jobs on the cabinets and they are beautiful. His customer service is excellent and his pricing was right on the spot. He is friendly and trustworthy. His cabinets are of great quality. I would highly recommend him to others for cabinetry work.

We are thrilled with the work Paul did. He returned the initial call quickly and was here within a day or so to estimate the job. He gave an estimate on the spot and we contracted for the work. He began work right away and was installing within three weeks. His work is top notch and when I wasn't certain the best way to go, he was very consultative, helping me make the best decision for us. We will be hiring Paul for additional work in the near future.

Paul came initially to discuss my project and gave me a bid. He came back again to check his measurements after my existing cabinets were removed and some wall work was done, has done everything he has said he will do (and on time), and has been patient while the project is held up by other contractors.I highly recommend his cabinets, his experience, and his attention to detail.

It went very well. Paul was very prompt to return my call about providing an estimate. He arrived at prearranged time to do the estimate. He is very professional accurate in the work he does. He is a consumate word worker and I would trust any project in his capable hands.
