It went well and they were very informative on what was happening. They gave you an option and we went through in different colors. It was a good experience and i will use their service again.

Kevin measured and made new fronts on doors and drawers. He provided the appropriate hinges so that the doors opened. I contacted his company through Angie's List and my only regret is that I did not get the 10% Angie's list deduction. Otherwise very good work! I enclose pictures of the poorly made new cabinet by Procraft and the excellent fronts by Mid America.

The work went great and we are so happy with the results! I liked the fact that we could go to Home Depot and pick out our own sink and hardware. We also picked out our own handles and bought them from Home Depot and they put them on our new cabinet doors. I love the new kitchen! It is so bright compared with the old oak that was in there. They even put a crown molding on the top of the cabinets, which looks so much better than the old "gingerbread" railing that was on top of the oak cabinets. I would recommend refacing to anyone wanting to save money. I'm sure this cost half of what it would to tear out and replace the cabinets. The people in this company were very nice and polite. The salesman who came out initially with all the samples was very helpful. He steered me away from picking a "wood" pattern that would have clashed with the other wood in the kitchen. He brought tons of samples to choose from and let me take my time. He also left the samples of the patterns I picked so I could go to the flooring store and help choose a flooring pattern. Everything matches and blends in perfectly. I could not be happier and the fact that the workers were so nice made this project go very smoothly. I would highly recommend them to anyone.

Kevin and his team came through again after our original large project back in 2015. Budget at the time prevented us from replacing all our kitchen drawers. We were able to finish the job this month with the same great experience we had before.

My husband and I have been remodeling our first home and have gone back and forth on what to do with our 1980's oak cabinets and orange-brown granite countertops. We looked into purchasing new cabinets and were quoted ~$25,000 with labor, which is more than we were wanting to spend. I found Mid America Cabinet Refacing on Angie's List and was impressed with the great reviews and the quality of the work seen in the portfolio. Our first meeting for the initial bid went great. Kevin was on-time, friendly, and professional. He brought pictures of previous work along with tons of cabinet and countertop samples. He discussed pricing and options thoroughly and sent a copy of the bid over email. He was very informative and communicative throughout the process and our kitchen materials came in much earlier than the timeline he quoted. The kitchen turned out even better than we expected, looks like a brand new kitchen. The attention to detail was superb and the crew was extremely considerate and laid down cardboard to protect the wood floors and cleaned up after the job was complete, they even did a great job of cleaning up the garage where they used their equipment! Everyone who has seen the kitchen so far comments on how beautiful the cabinets look and what a great job was done. It's wonderful to work with a company that is so professional and obviously cares about the caliber and quality of the final outcome. I would recommend Mid America Cabinet and Kevin to anyone considering a kitchen remodel for a reasonable cost. (We are adding a back splash ourselves and will add photos once that is complete)

It went fabulous! Our kitchen looks incredible thanks to Kevin and Ron of Mid America Refacing. The service was exceptional and the quality was superb. This is not your run of the mill company. We received numerous bids from other companies and we believe we received the fairest bid from Mid America Refacing. Kevin has the patience of Job and his employee Ron is awesome. They arrived on time everyday, they respected our home by laying out cardboard the entire stretch of their walkway. They cleaned their entire work area everyday, they made sure to close the door as they came in and out. They didn't cut any corners. When a leak was discovered with my water vales, Kevin fixed it at no additional cost. I truly wish Mid America Refacing services went beyond kitchen refacing because I would hire them to do all our home repairs and updates. They were a gift from God and I am so delighted we went with Mid America Refacing. I am 100% confident no other company out there could have delivered the same level of care, attention to detail and quality work than that provided by Mid America Refacing.

We had nothing but the best experience working with Kevin and his team.  He transformed our outdated late 60"s kitchen cabinets into updated beautiful cabinets.  We had some cabinets refaced and also newer custom cabinets/pantry added.  The cabinets were beautiful and Kevin and his crew were wonderful to work with.  We also had our counter tops and floor updated as well by Mid America.  The final product is beautiful.

Kevin and his crew refaced our kitchen in a previous home about 10 years ago, and we were so pleased with his work, that we hired him again when we moved into our new home.  For the first appointment, he was professional, prompt, and the quote he gave us was very reasonable compared to other companies.  He started within a few days of when he said they would start, and completed all of the work within a couple of weeks (with the exception of the backsplash, which I purposefully postponed installation).  The crew was always timely, and cleaned up after work each day.  The kitchen turned out beautifully!  People often ask me if I had the whole kitchen gutted and rehabbed, and when I tell them it was refaced, they can't believe it!  

Kevin was very responsive and easy to work with.  We had another estimate for the same job and the quality did not seem to be anywhere close to what kevin could offer us.  Job was completed on time and as we expected.  He gave us ideas and suggestions that were helpful as well.

Started off well and ended on low note.  Kevin was prompt and willing to do all that was asked of him when the order was placed at our initial meeting. Installation seemed to be going well the first week.  Kevin said measurements were incorrect and he had to reorder 6 cabinet door fronts, 3 end panels, and additional baseboard. We also decided to change 2 pull out small drawers to one large drawer so Kevin had to reorder that and he told us No Charge for that change.  Later, we decided to change a cabinet with a lower shelf for microwave to a standard upper cabinet full size doors. This was on the same cabinet with the incorrect doors.

We chose to go with all new uppers so you wouldn't see the refacing of the lamination as the uppers are highly visible. This was a $4000 additional cost (400 per cabinet). As it turns out, Kevin installed raw maple cabinets and refaced them with white laminate.  A $4000 mistake on our part. Kevin claims this is because if he ordered white cabinets they may be a different shade of white from the doors and other trim and laminate. Huh?

We had requested under counter dimmable lighting to replace the lighting that existed.  We learned that his plan was to install an outlet box in each cabinet, install a dimming switch in the cabinet and run wires on the inside of the cabinet to the puck lighting below.  We chose not to more forward with that solution. 

It took 2 additional weeks for some of the pieces to arrive and another week for the remainder.  A total of 4 weeks for the project. Two legs for the center island were on the order but never installed. Kevin gave no explanation on the missing legs and we decided the island looked fine without them.  I asked that the crown molding be raised as I could see the soffit behind and Kevin raised the molding an inch on one section of cabinets and touched up the old pin holes.  When I said 1 down 4 to go, I think he took offense and questioned whether I wanted the other crown molding raised.  Yes, so it would all match.  They pulled the other molding down and raised it up but did not touch up.  I could tell they were not happy. 

On the final day, a week later, we asked for credit for the lights, the island legs, and for 4 drawers since we were initially billed for 14 drawers and only had 10.  Kevin came back with a piece of paper showing $1000 extra for the 2 full size cabinet doors, and full size drawer and front, less 700 for the legs, less 375 for the lights, and less 600 for the 4 drawers.  We thought about the $1000 for the extras and later sent an email to Kevin for clarification. He responded with "We want to make sure you are happy. How much would you like for us to send you back?"  We responded with we weren't asking for money, just clarification on the amount and he responded with get a bid from Home Depot so you won't feel like you were taken. 

I didn't feel taken until I discovered that 8 of the 10 new dovetail slow close maple drawers were cut and nailed back together as they too were measured incorrectly, thus cutting off the dovetails.  These should have been replaced but he knew they were wrong and he did not even tell us.

Our recommendation:  Ask for a detailed invoice so when something has to be changed or credit is due, you will know exactly how much.
