"Harold is very nice however I would not recommend him to anyone based on how my bathroom was left. I chose white tile with black grout. When he left he informed I would need to “wipe the haze” off the tile in a couple hours. I went upstairs to find a complete mess. There was more than a haze. I was up there for 3 hours cleaning and wiping and taking a straight razor to try and clean up the crooked messy grout. To say I was livid is an understatement. I truly wish I could leave pictures to show what I was left. Absolutely looks like an amateur did our bathroom. The grout lines are so uneven. In some places there is no grout. It looks awful. This is second contractor in southern Illinois we have been disappointed with."

They must post their own positive reviews. They took my $65.00 fee and did nothing"

"Installed roof on new construction home. 1 yr later several problems and signs of leaking. The roof has many low nails, some very low nails and some of those are blown all the way through. There are shingles missing right at the valley and have been missing for a while, the felt is not black at all anymore. There are probably 40 holes through the shingles where the siding installers nailed their pump jacks through the roof. There is a snow valley on the west side of the home where the valley is backwards allowing water to run underneath the snow valley. There are several face nails throughout the roof that were never sealed. There are a few face nails that serve no purpose where someone may have shot a nail gun on accident and did not replace the shingle. Overall the roof has many areas that need addressed. Contractor not taking responsibility. Would NEVER recommend!!"

Staining a deck with a rag is typically a better option than using a brush, as it helps the stain penetrate deeper into the wood. However, both brushes and rags are best reserved for detailed work because using these tools on an entire deck can require tediously crawling around on your hands and knees. Use a rag for railings and other detailed work, and let the wood soak up as much of the stain as possible before wiping away drips or pools.

Wood stain does go bad, but it will last in the can for between three and six years, provided you use proper storage techniques. Storing wood stain in open containers or in extremely low or high temperatures will cause your wood stain to become unusable much more quickly. Water- and latex-based wood stains typically last for just two to four years, while oil-based wood stains can last for three to six years.

Painting and staining have their own pros and cons, so it’s up to the homeowner to decide what’s best. The good news is that both options can work. Stain is cheaper, easier to apply, and creates a more natural look. Paint lasts longer, has a wider variety of color options, and offers more protection against moisture and sunlight.

You can paint a deck with either a roller or a brush, but rollers are more common because they’re faster. There are benefits to using a brush, though. Brushes offer more control than rollers, so it’s a worthwhile route if you don’t mind spending more time on the job. The fastest way to paint a deck is with a sprayer, but they’re more expensive than rollers and brushes and more likely to result in an uneven coat.

You’ll want to avoid excessively hot or humid conditions, so it’s best to apply your stain in late spring to early fall. It's also important to watch the weather forecast and aim for days when there isn’t rain expected for at least three days. For new decks, allow the wood to season beforehand for at least four to eight weeks.
