"Excellent. Diagnosed the issue, ordered the part, came back next day to install, and now furnace runs as it should! I have used this company 2 times now and will not call anyone else! 1) they are professional 2) HONEST, wont try to tell you that you need all these extra repairs that others will. 3) PRICE, I've found that their pricing is very reasonable and actually lower than others I've used, but that doesn't mean the service is any less!!!"

Customers say: True professional

"Charlie is a top-notch guy, super friendly, and most importantly, very honest.  I had initially called him because I thought my 7-year water heater was ready to be replaced (pilot was no longer lighting after having months of issues).  After telling him what was going on, he said I didn't need to replace the water heater, probably just the thermocouple / ignitor.  I called him at around 9.30am, and he was out here by around 12pm.   He took a quick look, confirmed his suspicion, and left to pick up the parts and install them.  After that was fixed, I showed him an issue with my leaking toilet which he repaired as well. I couldn't have asked for better service, and will be referring to friends/family and calling him again next time.  Thanks Charlie.

"I had a tankless water heater installed. I gave 4-1/2 stars for overall rating because the worker who came was the lone installer and had no one to help. I could not use water for almost sever hours an inconvenience since job was estimated to be "about 4 hours". I think he took a deserved lunch break for about an hour. He was on time and was courteous and pleasant. Would have been nice if he had a helper."

"It was an excellent experience working with Brian of AL's Cooling and Heating which installed a furnace and a CAC replacement unit at my residence. I did alot of research and got several bid to compare proposals, both price as well as recommended solutions. AL's was the best in terms of the competence, professional presentation , answering my questions, including follow up ones, and price. His responses were prompt compared to others, too. time is ticking and very important when one is talking furnace in chicago in the Fall. The installation went very smooth and included testing."

"Mike, the service tech was absolutely the best. He was polite, through and knowledgeable. He found the problem to be a leaking booster pump after testing the sump pump. The booster pump was installed less than a year ago by the sprinkler company and they were called to make repairs or replace. The service charge was all I had to pay. Believe me I was having nightmares about the cost of a new sump pump and back-up battery. I know who to call if I need any other sewer or drain service."

FAQs for boiler installation projects in Riverside, IL

The average cost to install a new water heater is around $1,300, but you can expect to pay between $875 and $1,750, depending on the kind of water heater, the size of the unit, and the professional chosen to complete the work. Tankless water heaters can push your price higher, as installation is more complicated, with prices as high as $3,500. The location and accessibility of your water heater will play a role in the project cost, as those sitting in tight spaces like a crawl space will drive up your labor costs.

Yes, most states require plumbers to be licensed, and for good reason. Hiring an unlicensed plumber could lead to poor quality work, costly future expenses, and potential code violations.

As you browse our pro listings, take note of the “Angi Approved” badge. Angi Approved businesses meet our standards for certification which include:

  • The owner, principal, or relevant manager passed a criminal background check

  • Required to have applicable state and local licenses

  • Maintain an average star rating of 3.0 or better on our network, if they have at least one review

  • Paying to advertise their services

  • Meeting any other eligibility criteria required by Angi

Keep in mind licensing is different from certifications. A license is a legal requirement to operate a business, while certifications are voluntary.

It usually takes a professional water heater installer between two and three hours to remove an existing water heater and install a new tank heater. However, it could take four to five hours if they have to work in a small utility closet or another tight area, like a crawl space. Tankless water heaters have a more complicated installation process, so they will take a bit longer. Additionally, a gas water heater requires a connection to a gas line, and that alone can add about an hour to the installation timeline compared to installing an electric water heater.

It is very difficult and dangerous to install your own water heater, so we strongly recommend against tackling this as a DIY project. Not only will you need to wire your water heater, but you’ll also need to connect plumbing to the intake and outlet. Sweating copper pipes and connecting wiring properly are skills most DIYers don’t have, and even if you do feel confident you can do it, working with water and electricity always leaves the potential for electrocution. Hiring a local water heater installer is well worth the investment.

The average cost to hire a plumber is around $100 an hour but can vary between $45 and $200 an hour depending on the plumber’s experience and the repair that you need. It’s also important to note that these prices can go up on holidays, and emergency plumber rates average $150 per hour, in addition to a flat-rate trip fee of $100 to $350
