In addition, they cleaned up the interior each day and regularly picked up construction waste placed in the garage during this process."

"My concern is that they overcharged for work (drawings/) and it took a LONG time to finish a project that should have been completed in 3 weeks. They did not present an initial contract to review time frame for completion of job and an estimate of the costs. Insurance agency stated that contractor often gave them billing costs AFTER the work was complete rather than BEFORE. When insurance company contacted contractor to come in the office to discuss concerns, contractor refused and wanted to be paid for the time he would be in the office. We needed to hire a new contractor who could finish the job in a timely manner!"

However, there are several factors that will impact the price of your system, including your lawn’s size, the type of sprinkler system, and labor rates in your area. In most cases, you don’t need to water a garden every day. Water plants in well-draining sandy soil about twice a week, and water plants in mulch or heavier clay soils about once per week. If temperatures are extremely hot, you may need to water every day. A good rule of thumb is to stick your finger in the soil. If it’s dry a few inches down, your plants could use water.

Once you’ve determined the optimal sprinkler head setup, it’s time to call in the pros. Sprinkler head installation is labor-intensive and complicated. Not to mention, you run the risk of hitting utilities when you dig.

For new construction installations, install the sprinkler heads after the landscape beds have been built and before any turf grass has been installed.

Like anything else, sprinkler pipes will freeze if the temperature falls below freezing, which is 32 degrees Fahrenheit (or 0 degrees Celsius). However, winterizing your sprinkler system is a relatively simple (if somewhat time-consuming and tedious) process, and it can help ensure your system won’t be damaged over the winter, even if it does freeze.

Water in sprinklers is subject to gravity like everything else. It tends to seek out equilibrium and will drain to the lowest elevation in what's known as low-head drainage. Water that isn’t sprayed from the sprinklers doesn’t specifically “rest” in the sprinkler lines, but it can stay there until it’s either sprayed out in normal usage or blown out with an air compressor prior to winterization.
