"Marius does beautiful tile work in a pleasant and professional manner. We replaced pipes in both of our showers and Marius did an excellent job at replacing the wall and installing tile in one shower and remodeling the second shower from acrylic to ceramic and marble tile. Marius was responsive and helpful every time I called him in the planning process. He is true to his name â ¦ a beautiful tile pro"

"We had an excellent experience with Avanti Stone for our backsplash installation in our kitchen and another in our bar. Tony and Sal did outstanding work from start to finish. They were professional, punctual, and clearly take a lot of pride in their craftsmanship. The installation was precise, clean, and beautifully done—the attention to detail really shows. Tony and Sal took the time to make sure everything was perfectly aligned. Communication throughout the process was easy and straightforward, and the end result exceeded our expectations. We couldn’t be happier with how the backsplash turned out and would absolutely recommend Avanti Stone, especially Tony and Sal, to anyone looking for high-quality stone work."

"All Pro Painters were just excellent. They were on top of things from the start. They gave me a really fair quote, and weâ re able to start my project shortly after. I had a whole demo and remodel done in the basement, so it was quite an undertaking. The guys came out and worked hard. They installed new moldings on the floor and ceiling. I had them paint the whole basement as well, they made me feel really confident they could get the job done and they executed it extremely well. The place looks amazing! These guys are full service! Had them come back for a smaller bathroom project, same quality and expert work as the basement. They also did a beautiful job with the bath tub tiles. Couldnâ t be happier. Thanks All Pro!"

"The project was done to my satisfaction and that of my wife. We already knew what tiles I wanted and the measurements of the project so I knew what I needed to buy. I also bought an aluminum trim for the edge so contractor had to mount the backsplash only. It turned out nice. It was done with care and it took a day and a half. They left the lace clean and Mr. Martin supervises the whole project."

"The team was very responsive in assisting the removal of a silver maple in my back yard. Came out and quoted the opportunity within a couple days of engaging them on the Home Advisor platform. After moving forward with the bid, the continued to provide communication even through a couple reschedules due to weather. The completion of the project was smooth and they left the back yard in great shape. Iâ d recommend All Service Calls to my friends and family members."

"Excellent. I was considering doing part of the pre-installation work myself, but due to time constraints, went with Nino's Tile's proposal to do almost everything from removal of the existing flooring, receipt of the tile, and also ordered the tile via them from a vendor/tile choice I had selected after visiting various tile shops and showrooms. A unique family company of two brothers, who actually perform all the work themselves, Tony and Vito, took genuine pride in their work and had the patience to answer all questions and take care of all my installation details including discussion of technical items. I contacted Tony back in March to line up for this flooring work to begin in June and everything went perfectly on schedule. While this was an expensive project it was definitely worth it to have the tile done correctly and with the right aesthetics without needing to supervise the work, so I feel I got what I paid for."

Backsplash Installation questions, answered by experts

When working on your bathroom floor tiling, you should always tile the floor first and then refit the toilet afterward. This has both practical and visual advantages—the tile will have a better seal, and the installation will look cleaner.

On the other hand, when you try to cut the tiles to fit around the toilet, you’re putting yourself at a disadvantage. It’s a lot more work, it’s hard to be precise, and mistakes or miscalculations can lead to future moisture damage to the tiling, grout, and subfloor.

Glass tiles are among the most difficult to install. This is because their transparency makes the adhesive visible, and any imperfections on the opposite side are also likely to be visible. Glass tiles also must be handled carefully during installation, as they are prone to scratching. For these reasons, glass tiles often require professional installation to get the most out of their beauty and unique look.

Generally speaking, it is better to cut tile wet when using a fast-moving wet saw to reduce dust and chipping. However, tile can be cut dry when using just about any cutting tool. Dry cutting will result in a bigger mess and may increase the risk of chipping or cracking, but if you’re just making small cuts, dry cutting is a safe and viable option. Cutting dry also means you can apply tile grout sooner, so it’s better for rushed projects.

Grout lines should typically be between 1/8 to 3/16 inch thick. This ensures enough room for the grout to dry properly and makes them wide enough to look clean and professional. If grout lines are too small, it can be easier to see imperfections in the spacing.

If you’re out of spacers for your tile installation, you can use pennies. Each time you place a tile, stick the pennies around the edges (on the sides and the corners). Like working with spacers, you’ll want the same amount of space around each tile before they set.
