"Good work in general; our basement no longer sees water for over 3 years now, which is the most important thing. But there were some real issues: The biggest issue is that USW did not adhere to local electrical codes, and did not arrange for a final inspection of the project. So we didn't find out that it wasn't to code until years later, and now it's a big hassle and minor cost to fix and get the permits. Ask your local gov yourself what you need to do for permits and inspections; don't rely on USW! USW said they would seal any foundation cracks found along the way; they didn't do this until I bugged the warranty dept about it (but they did do it eventually). USW sent someone out for the "annual checkup"... over 2 years after the install. It's a good thing they (eventually) did, because they discovered the backup battery wasn't charging. Now I know to check this stuff better myself. Prices also vary wildly and are kind of negotiable (I'd give more detail but I'm out of space)"

Replacing a toilet takes two to four hours. Several factors, including the condition of the old toilet and flange, can impact the installation time. Inspect the flange for cracks, chips, or other signs of damage. You can reuse it and the bolts if they’re in good working order. If not, you’ll need to purchase an identical one and install it before attaching the toilet, which adds time. Be careful when moving the old and new toilets—they’re heavy, so it’s best to hire a pro to get the placement right.

Kitchen sinks come in sizes ranging from 25 to 39 inches, but you may find sinks in custom sizes, too. If you're upgrading the size of your sink, be sure to use the template accompanying the new sink to create a properly sized hole for a well-fitting sink.

If you have to hold the toilet handle (also called the toilet lever) down to flush, you probably have a chain problem. A chain that cannot fully lift the flapper will close too early and not clear the toilet bowl. Try adjusting the chain length so there’s about ½ inch of slack.   

It is okay to use a drain auger on a toilet, just make sure you are using the correct tip size. The auger is a plumbing snake with a protective sleeve to protect the porcelain toilet bowl from getting scratched. Using too large of an auger can cause the snake to loop back and damage the inside of the drain and plumbing.

To find a leak in a small pool, place a few drops of food coloring in a random area. If the food coloring flows out, you've found your leak. However, this can be time-consuming and impractical in larger pools. The best option is to hire a pool repair specialist with ultrasonic equipment.
