Out of many contractors I called to get an estimate, he was the only one willing to provide options to have the project fit our budget. Once we agreed to move forward, he worked diligently with the architect and village to get the permits finalized (which is a difficult task in my town). Once the work started, he provided almost daily updates of the work that will be completed and any anticipated inspections (which we passed easily). He also reached out himself to finalize details from big items like windows to small ones like the molding. The result was a beautiful sunroom and deck which I receive compliments on regularly. In the end, they not only met our expectations, they exceeded them. Icon assembled a talented team to execute the building of our house. They selected a group of subcontractors that had the necessary talents and attention to detail to be able to execute the detailed design that we entrusted to them. The efforts of the subcontractors were carefully guided by our superintendent, Mike P. In the office, Shawna H. did a great job navigating our project thru the challenging City review process. We had several challenges during the project, and the Icon team dealt with them in a positive manner. "The contracted the work off to a third party. Jon took longer than expected. The windows was installed pretty good from the looks. Communication could have been better with knowing the job will take longer and what types of trims I wanted for the windows. As the contractor that was hired for this job by this company. Did a good job with putting up decent trim. As for the new windows they look great. I purchased the myself and hired sentri homes to install them. I will need to have a my siding on my house redone to be closer to the new windows so the gaps are not so obvious. That was not expected at first. But from old storm windows and not knowing how they were put in originally. There was some unknown things that was learned from the job being completed. I will have the siding of the house slightly done to match really good for what I wanted later on. My only concern is better communication with sentri homes. Overall they were great when I did talk to them."

"JCB does excellent work, they are quality craftsmen. They do the work quickly but thoroughly. Jack is one of the most trustworthy person that I have found in the building/service industry. Jack will problem-solve and guide us as needed but never "up-sells" unnecessarily. And JCB is a full-service contractor. Recently, they painted, replaced all the rotting wood on the exterior of our house, among other things. In the past, they have replaced a wall damaged by a water leak, refinished our basement and painted the entire interior of our house. I trust them implicitly."

"John and 41 North is great to work with and very client-service oriented. His prices are fair, the estimates are detailed, his team's work is of high quality and he is very communicative. He did some remodeling work for us on our siding, deck and windows and we were very happy with the results. He also upgraded our electrical. We then re-engaged the next year to do our hardscape patio and back landscaping. When rain delayed our progress, he rushed the job to get it done in time for a party we were having. We intend to continue working with 41 North as we continue to upgrade our older Chicago home. I highly recommend this company."

"We started working with IDEA back in the fall of 2010 for designs for a remodel/addition to our 1950's Cape Cod.  The designs were done by one of the original partners of the firm and we could not have been more pleased.  He really took into account our desire to maintain the overall feel of the house and the charm as well as creative ways to re-purpose existing space.
Construction on the house started in April of 2011 and was originally supposed to take 6 months.  We ended up being out of our house for 7 months but most of the delays were due to weather issues at the very beginning of the project.  Also, mid-way through the project, Peter (the architect who did our drawings) left the company to move out of the country.  Marty and Angela did scramble at first trying to pick up the pieces in Peter's absence but eventually, things sorted themselves out and we honestly have nothing but good things to say about them!  They were incredibly responsive to our requests and concerns, Angela provided excellent guidance with design, color, style etc. on decisions that we easily could have been overwhelmed with.  She has a wonderful taste level!  Any time we had issues with how construction was progressing, Marty quickly responded, met with us and made sure things were fixed to our satisfaction.  He is also one of the genuinely nicest people we have ever met!  
It's been several months now since the project has been completed and we could not be more pleased.  Any kind of construction/remodeling on your house is stressful but in retrospect, Marty and Angela were great to work with and we would definitely recommend them, and IDEA to anyone considering a remodel or addition.  They were great!"
