"George came out and talked to me about what was wrong about the gutters I had up and showed me what to look for in bad gutters. He was great on showing what was wrong and what needed fixed. His crew came out and took down my old gutters and replaced them with new ones. They were also had the best rice to do gutters and gutter guards. Very happy with them and the work they did."

Small jobs welcome

"Mr. Simpson replied to my query swiftly and showed up to do the work promptly and cheerfully. On a bleak sleeting day, he cleaned out our clogged gutters and then suggested and installed a better gutter guard. We will call upon him in the future for other jobs."

"Our new gutters look sharp and we no longer have overflow issues. We had them installed last fall and have had zero problems since. The price was extremely fair. The crew was very careful about our landscape at the time. Don't hesitate to call Udo to get your old gutters replaced!"

"The team from The Brothers that just do Gutters was really top notch! We were having issues with gutters overflowing during heavy rain and their sales person Adam was really fair to point out where we needed our system fixed and where we could wait a little longer. We went with the 6 inch seamless gutters to help handle the higher water volume on the longest stretch of our roof. It's not that usual pushy sales pitch that I hate! They were very accommodating to work with us on our needs and we will definitely use them again when we install gutter guards in the summer!"

"We are very happy with our new siding and gutters done by TomKat. The owners name is Tom and he is super helpful and detail oriented. From the beginning of the process to the final install, Tom was there giving us advise, guidance, and answering our questions. Tom was very accommodating when we requested samples and personally made several trips to the supplier to pick up and drop off samples to us. The project was started on a Friday and they were done by Sunday. His workers cleaned up everything and the job was done perfectly. We are very happy and would definitely recommend Tom to anyone looking for Siding or gutters replaced."

Gutter Repair and Replacement questions, answered by experts

The average cost to install or replace gutters is around $2,000, with typical project costs ranging from $900 to $7,000. Most companies charge between $4 and $30 per linear foot. The total price depends on several factors, including the size of your home, the complexity of its footprint, the gutter material (e.g., vinyl, metal), and the gutter style (e.g., half-round, custom-built). Additional elements like downspouts, corners, and optional add-ons like gutter guards can also increase the price. The condition of your roof is another consideration, as new gutters cannot be installed on a rotting or sloping roof. While it can be an expensive upfront cost, new gutters are a worthwhile, long-lasting investment for protecting your home's exterior. You can save up to half on labor costs by installing them yourself.

While minimal drippage may not be problematic, gutters that are constantly leaking or overflowing indicate damage or improper installation. A rain chain gutter or other ornamental feature may produce more dripping than usual. Likewise, rain dispersal systems may also cause water to sprinkle to the ground. However, if you notice pools of water or flooding around your property, then it’s a good idea to have your gutter system inspected.

Regular cleaning, checking for leaks, and ensuring that downspouts direct water away from the foundation help prolong gutter life.

Water overflow, foundation damage, and mold growth are risks.

Unless you've chosen to install underground downspouts, your gutter downspouts shouldn't touch the ground. If they come into contact with the soil or pavement next to your home, rainwater can back up into them during a storm, preventing them from doing their job effectively. Instead, aim to have your downspouts end about 12 inches from the ground.
