"Tim and Jeff were very fastidious in setting up, cleaning, and making sure the house was in good order when they left . We also had an Aeroseal treatment which followed with James and Connor. It did take some time to set up after the vents were cleaned and blown out, but the application of this polymer to close gaps in lthe galvinized steel ducts was remarkable."

"He was very knowledgeable and professional. After the audit we received an estimate to correct any areas that were discovered. Unlike what we originally thought our issues were not the windows and doors. The estimate was for $4000 to add insulation to the attic, increase airflow in the attic, install foam insulation around our fireplace and throughout the basement as well as removing the attic fan and adding drywall.
The price is the estimated price for projects to be completed.

"The BATH UPSTAIRS   had a window that needing bracing, a bath that had black mold behind the horrible VINYL wall, and had to be insulated with MOISTURE proof materials and RE-TILED - the walls, under the window and behind the tub and around the laundry chute opening.  The Downstairs Bath also needed the window braced and tiled as it was falling and splitting from the ceiling due to POOR WORKMANSHIP by someone NOT on Angies List back in 2003!!   SO, Siding Repair Systems -  They did it all, with their contractor Thomas Morton.  What a really fantastic job - on BOTH these Bathroom windows, Tiling and securing/supporting.  EXCELLENT WORK!!  Clean and neat - it looked like they had a MAID SERVICE come in and clean up after them.  Honestly.  So neat and clean they were.  Thanks for a Really good job.   "

"My best friend's mother had been challenged with sickness for quite some time.  She had been complaining about mold in her house.  We had several people come out and do inspections.  Most of them were expensive.  We could not meet their requirements at the time.  We finally called Absolute Clean.  They came out and did a thorough inspection.  He actually found the mold problem that the other companies never mentioned.  He gave us a detailed description of how it would be removed.  We hired them for the job.  They did an excellent job.  They were completely knowledgable which made them able to do an exceeding job.  They came in and removed the mold.  They removed some paneling and drywall that had been previously missed by the other contractors.  They scrubbed the mold.  They chemically treated the mold problem.  They actually ozoned the whole premises to get rid of all of the mold.  They also found asbestos insulation that was missed by the previous companies we had to come out and look at the problem.  They removed the asbestos for us.  They worked around our time schedule which was a great help.  They were very courteous and polite.  I would recommend them highly."

Insulation questions, answered by experts

Yes, insulating ductwork in a crawl space is a worthwhile investment, especially if you live in a colder climate or run your air conditioning for most of the year. Uninsulated ducts can lose up to 30% of their heating and cooling efficiency, which can significantly impact your electricity bill. The project is a relatively small investment and typically only takes a few hours. It's a particularly simple add-on if you are already hiring someone to insulate the entire crawl space. An added benefit is that insulated ducts put off less hot or cold air, making them less attractive to pests.

Winterizing your outdoor plumbing keeps your outdoor spigot from freezing and potentially bursting. This includes draining residual water out of the pipe and spigot after turning the valve off, then removing garden hoses and other attachments from the spigot before winter comes. Insulating the pipe that leads to the spigot and installing a freeze-proof faucet also help, as does installing an outdoor faucet protector.

If the outside temperature drops below 20 degrees Fahrenheit, it will take around six hours for your pipes to freeze—and they might even burst. That’s why keeping your mobile home’s temperature around 50 to 60 degrees Fahrenheit is necessary, even if you’re leaving it vacant for the winter. In addition, having ample skirting around the mobile home's underbelly will help keep pipes insulated during the winter.

How to dispose of insulation depends on a few factors, including the condition of the material. While you can simply bag up and throw away many kinds of insulation, some municipalities offer recycling, so it's worth checking with yours. If there are contaminants such as asbestos in your insulation, abatement and specialized disposal are often necessary.

When it comes to fiberglass insulation versus foam board, there are a few notable differences, both aesthetically and functionally. Fiberglass insulation is soft and flexible, meaning it can be squeezed into tight spaces more easily than foam board. Fiberglass insulation also has a higher R-value, making it a better pick for colder climates. However, foam board insulation can resist moisture and pest damage much better than fiberglass.
