"I called for a free estimate, Justin came promtly and inspected the chimey. He showed me pictures of the problems and spelled out all the options. I explained to him that my cellar has floode due the problems and was anxious to get the repairs done. Justin quoted a price that was fair and much lower then any other estimates. To my surprise he said that he could do the job that day. He kept sending me pictures as the work progressed so I knew exactlywhat he was doing. He was professional and honest about what needed to be done. I was more then pleased with him and the company. I highly recommend .Chimneys are us."

But they will still charge you for everything pointless that they did before then. First visit: Added R22 and left. It didn’t work ($377.50) Second and third visits: Replaced capacitor and left. The simplest way to tell whether your chimney damper is open or closed is to put your hand near the fireplace opening. If you feel a breeze, the damper is open. But if no draft comes from the chimney, the damper is closed.

There are fire codes for a fireplace mantel made of wood or other combustible material. The mantel must be mounted at least six inches away from the fireplace opening on all sides with a non-combustible material—like stone or brick—installed between the mantel and fireplace. Building codes and regulations will vary based on your location, so before beginning the project, research the requirements in your area.
