    1/23/21 Great experience today at Chicago Lawn Mower/Show Blower on W. Montrose. My Toro snow blower wouldn't start. Steve diagnosed my problem: I had not fully emptied out the gas in the spring. This caused the carburetor to malfunction. He explained that it's best to run the machine until it stops in order to make sure the gas tank is completely empty. In less than 15 minutes, the snow blower was cleaned, carburetor flushed and some new gas added. Not only does it run beautifully, it looks brand new! The shop is clean, the service friendly yet efficient and the price incredibly reasonable for the work. I have used this shop several times before, In fact, I exchanged my old snow blower for the one I have now. It's a small family owned shop.     Excellent service, prompt, reasonable prices. One of the biggest problems with a a mower or blower repaired is getting it to some ones shop. Dave brings him shop to you. His man has all the tools on site. He has a hydraulic lift, a grinder for blades, lots of tools and parts and his owner power source. Great guy who knows his stuff. Dave used to work for one of the largest mower and blower firms in the country and knows his stuff. I'll be using him again in the future.     The company was very responsive. They sent me an email about 35 minutes after I purchased the coupon. That was on a Tuesday afternoon. I called them and scheduled them to come out for the service first thing on Friday. Their technician, Dennis arrived on time. He was very good and very knowledgeable. We had been having problems with the furnace burners going on and then shutting off while the fan stayed on blowing cold air. He quickly found that the problem was a dirty flame sensor, and cleaned it. He also noticed that the burner furthest to the right was making a rattling noise only when the fan came on. He said in his experience that usually meant there was a crack in the heat exchanger. He said if that was the case, it was time for a new furnace. He inspected the heat exchanger with a camera scope. Upon close inspection with the camera, he could not find a crack. He discovered that 2 screws were missing that attached a back plate to the heat exchanger right behind the rattling burner. This was probably done by a technician we had out previously. He replaced the missing screws, reassembled everything, and the rattling noise was gone. He said it was the first time in 15 years he had seen something like that be the cause of the noise. Most technicians would have just tried to sell me a new furnace, claiming it was a bad heat exchanger. Instead, he fully investigated the problem and didn't give up until he found the real problem. Since my furnace is pretty old, he could have easily sold me on the idea of replacing it with a new one. Instead, he pronounced my furnace as in good working order. This says a lot about his integrity and that of his company. When I do decide to replace our aging furnace, I won't think twice about going with Lifeline Plumbing Heating & Cooling to do the work. Dennis explained everything he was doing and answered all my questions about how furnaces work. When asking about using a zoned system to help even out the heat distribution in our home, he discovered that the ducting in our house is actually structured to do this. He explained how that type of system works, gave me a guess on approximate cost and told me he would email me a quote in a few days. He also told me that our 100,00 BTU furnace is oversized for the size of our house. It causes it to run very short cycles so we constantly go from cold to hot. He said our size house only needs a 70,000 BTU furnace. That size furnace would be a better fit for the square footage in our home. It would run longer cycles, reducing the hot/cold spells we now experience. I was really happy with the service I received from Lifeline Plumbing Heating & Cooling.
