"The ceiling in my garage ( a standard 2-car attached garage) needed some serious TLC; a couple of drywall panels had worked themselves loose from the ceiling studs, the ceiling needed to be re-taped and re-sealed, and the whole garage needed to be repainted. The crew (4 people including the boss Delfino Franco) showed up about 7:30 on a Monday morning, and were done late Tuesday afternoon. They were quiet (no loud music blaring), and just went about their business. They spend Monday doing the repair work, including all the taping and mudding, and did their painting on Tuesday. I could not be happier with the quality of their work. If I have other drywall/painting projects in the future, I won't even think about asking anyone else for estimates. Anyone who hires them will not be disappointed. Pete G."

Wet-sanding and dry-sanding each have pros and cons. Dry-sanding is less messy, so it’s a good option if you’re trying to minimize dust (for example, if you’re sanding an occupied home or working with particularly dry or dusty drywall mud). However, dry-sanding is quicker because you don’t have to keep rinsing a sponge or wait for it to dry before painting.

Brick and stucco are a lot more different. You must use picture hanging clips designed for brick walls, or use a plaster rail system with adjustable hooks. Any other type of hanging hardware will cause damage to the bricks behind. You won’t be able to really use nails, either, because they’re not strong enough to go into the bricks.

Most handy homeowners can tackle removing texture from unpainted walls. Removing texture from painted walls is a bit trickier. Paint acts as a sealant, so you can’t soften the texture with water. You can drywall an unheated garage because the material handles cold temperatures perfectly well. There are no risks or downsides to installing drywall in a garage that is not heated, and the material stands up to moisture and other elements quite well. Drywall will protect your unheated garage's electric wires and cables and add fire protection. However, for effective bonding, you should install drywall at a temperature of 55 degrees Fahrenheit or higher.
