"The work completed wasn't very good so I asked them to come back to make corrections. After their "corrections," the work was much worse and seemingly intentionally bad! You shouldn’t need extra adhesive for peel-and-stick backsplash tile. The adhesive on the back of the tile sheets should do the trick. If you want full humidity protection and cleanability, tile or stone works better.

When choosing materials for finishing basement walls, consider factors such as moisture resistance, durability, and fire resistance. Opt for materials specifically designed for basement environments, like moisture-resistant drywall or cement board. Insulation with vapor barriers can help regulate temperature and prevent condensation. Consider using mold-resistant paints or coatings.
