"Garage was built well. Wasn’t happy with the concrete guys they used.(0 stars)Thought I’d have a patio poured as they did the slab for the garage to make it easier. They ended up sloping it towards the house. Water runs towards my house on rainy days and sits behind my basement foundation. Very noticeable by eye too. When I put a table or chair on it, the whole set sits crooked. I have to wedge it with a piece of wood to keep it level. I have cracks in several places as well after the first year which I know no one guarantees but thats besides the point. Called them to address the issue but never got a response to the problem. I’ve had to look at it everyday for the last 2 years and it frustrates me. Called them back, explained the situation again…. even suggested to redo it at cost….they said they would get back to me ….but no response…again. They tell you about how good they are but when you try to address it, they don’t do anything. I guess I’ll have to tear it out and it replaced by someone else. I don’t like leaving bad reviews but I gave them plenty of opportunities to make it right. It’s ashamed because I had a lot of people asking me for referrals. I even paid more that other quotes thinking they were different. I didn’t feel confident in recommending them. If anyone wants to see the work, please let me know. Hope it was worth it guys! UPDATE: 4/24 Bob proactively reached out to me and was unaware of the issues I had with the concrete. Internal communication issue? I don’t know. Apparently they've had issues with that concrete contractor and no longer use them. Garage4you said they want to make it right. Totally wasn't expecting that. Currently in the process of correcting the issue. I will update the review once completed. Just thought I'd let everyone know as you are gearing up for garage work soon. Maybe I was wrong and there are good ones out there. We shall see. UPDATE: 5/25 Well....a year has gone by and Issue has not been resolved. I reached out toward the end of summer thinking that they were busy and would do it in fall. Never happened. Obviously couldn't do it in winter. I told them let’s set it for early spring. I had to called in April to follow up. There has been no sense of urgency on their part. I keep getting the run around as if they didn't want to do it anymore. Not sure why this is so hard. You had a different contractor come out to validate that it wasn't done right. Then you put it in writing what needs to happen and it still hasn't. I even have all the texts archived. This is getting frustrating again but goes back to my original intuition. They are really good at telling you "how good they are" but when it comes to things like this, don't want to take responsibility; even though they acknowledged it. (which is worse in my opinion) Just wanted to get this done before I beautify my backyard as I know it will get torn up. I will give them one more week to schedule or tell me what is happening. If I don't hear back, I i'll most likely have to take it to the next step. Hopefully my next update is more promising. I've posted some pics so you can see what I am talking about. Pics don't do justice. 6/25/2025-Well. Now they are ignoring me. Guess I have to take it to the courts.............This is why contractors get a bad name! 9/25. "Signed contract w/Encore for a 1-color Stargazer coating w/a lifetime warranty in May 23. When the install took place in SEP 23, it was immediately defective. Encore used 2 colors instead of the contracted single color, & visible flaws appeared across the deck within days. Within months, the coating began chipping & failing, the very problem we had specifically raised & Encore had dismissed. Over the next 19 months (SEP 23?MAY 25), we contacted Encore at least 14 times to report issues, share photos, & request repairs. Encore?s own reps inspected the site & acknowledged the work was below their standards. Yet the company repeatedly delayed action, offered inadequate fixes, & shifted explanations?from initially admitting a surface-prep failure to later, more than a year after our first complaint, claiming a moisture barrier issue. We tried to work through the BBB, IL AG (no Encore response). In OCT 25, Encore was found in civil court as negligent in installing the pool deck coating."
