"Just had my garage floor coated by Encore, and couldn?t be happier with the results. The quoting and sales process was extremely straightforward/transparent, and pressure-free. Team was responsive to all of my questions and gave a clear understanding of what to expect. Quality of the floor seems outstanding. The crew arrived on time, worked efficiently, and paid great attention to every small detail. No doubt I?d recommend Encore to anyone looking for high-quality concrete coating!"

"Very unresponsive and difficult to get a call back on the phone. No consideration for our property at all. Need to be watched through whole process. If we hadn't been watching would have had a lot of mistakes. Nice people just a little hard to work with."

"Philipe, the owner of this company was easy to deal with. He offered a less expensive option than others had offered and said I could probably patch the area instead of spending over $1000 to dig the whole thing up. He charged a reasonable price. His employee came and did a great job patching, and cleaning up afterwards. He made sure not a speck of cement was left on the driveway. I will definitely hire them again when I have a bigger job"

Epoxy Flooring questions, answered by experts

Not every type of flooring is well suited to a wood stove. However, ceramic or stone tiles are good choices since they are durable, heat-resistant, and easy to clean. Softer flooring options, like carpet, could be damaged by the heat produced by a wood stove—or even create a fire hazard.

Epoxy coatings for concrete basement or garage floors are popular. These two-part resinous coatings are waterproof and highly durable, making them an ideal choice for high-traffic spaces or areas where spills are likely. However, epoxy flooring costs more to apply than concrete stains and doesn't produce a natural-looking finish.

A concrete seal can protect your garage floor from water and stains as can an epoxy coating. The main difference is that epoxy is much more durable and better for heavy-duty wear and tear—it’s used in more industrial and commercial settings. If you’re just using the garage as storage for tools and your car, concrete sealer will do just fine. But if your garage doubles as a workshop for side projects and auto repair, epoxy will hold up better.

You’ll usually need to prime a garage floor before painting—especially if the floor is unpainted. Garage floors are made from concrete, which is porous and produces dust. The dust can contaminate the paint and cause issues with adherence.

Primer creates a barrier and gives you a clean surface to work on. It also minimizes absorption to help give you an even, pro-looking paint job. Make sure you choose a primer that’s specifically designed to cover concrete flooring.

Yes, you can seal old or existing concrete, but proper preparation is crucial. The concrete surface must be clean, dry, and free of any incompatible old sealant. To check if an old sealer is present, drip a few drops of water onto the surface; if the water is absorbed in under five minutes, it's ready to be resealed. If you plan to use the same type of sealer that was previously applied, you may not need to remove the old layer. However, if you are using a different type of sealer, the old one must be completely removed. Before applying the new sealer, thoroughly clean the concrete and repair or fill any cracks to ensure a smooth, well-prepared surface.
