"cut out bad bricks in 10 foot exposed chimney, replaced and did tuck point on chimney. Poured concrete cap on chimney, waterproofed chimney. Extremely knowledgeable in their craft. NOT a fly by night operation. Cody and Colton are the bros. and their customer service is outstanding! Trust in these guys and their specific warranty papers and products they use are second to none in their industry. Their skills and work ethic is methodical and that of dire perfectionists. They matched my other brick and the repair is like it never happened. They stayed in touch over the different days performing the repair, explaining their every move and how the repair would take place. Eased my questions with full explanations. I was a victim of poor repair before, so they new my problems showed what needed to happen to repair years of experience under their belts, I was at ease with the Bros. handling the repair. They do chimney cleaning, tuck point and flatwork, chimney cap repair and waterproofing, also do basement brick repair and leak damage. Bonded and insured, They are Artists, in the lost art of brick and chimney work. My roof is only 6 yrs. old and they took all precautions to insure integrity of my newer roof. Cleaned up around roof and ground each time before leaving. Years of experience and HONEST responsible repair. Hire these gentlemen to take care of your home."

"Calls were returned promptly.  A fee is charged for an estimate.  If you proceed with the estimated repairs, the estimate is credited against the total charges for the repairs.  The work was scheduled for a specific date and time and was completed exactly as promised.  The roof was shingled in 2001 and EJS found the exact shingles used so that the repair is entirely invisible.  The source of the leak turned out to be improper initial installation of the shingles around the vent stack by another roofing company.  All the interactions with EJS were professional and they let me know they stand behind the work they have done.  I would use this company again because of their obvious expertise, skill, dependability and courtesy.

"My old chimney needed some repair, a new cap, and a good cleaning due to normal wear and tear after many years. Some of the bricks were falling apart and the chimney cap was rusted and deteriorating. My neighbor referred me to the Godfrey Bros. because he had used them previously and said they did a great job at a great price. I gave the owners (Cody and Colton) a call and set up an appointment with them. They came out and did an inspection and took some measurements on their first visit. They arrived when said they would and worked diligently. After they took the measurements, they had to order the chimney cap. The cap arrived a couple days later, and they came out and did their work. My chimney looks so much better now, and I can't wait to use my fireplace this winter. After all was said and done, I was very impressed with the quality of work and professionalism of the Godfrey Bros. They were very respectful of my property and my time and did a great job. They explained the process and what I should expect with their services. As for costs, the cleaning was $125, the cap was $150, and the repair work was $300. Thanks guys!! I would recommend you to friends/family any time, and I will be calling you when we are ready to have our air ducts cleaned. A+ work"

Chimney Repair questions, answered by experts

Yes, you can save moldy wood furniture by removing the mold as soon as you notice it. Mold can penetrate and damage porous wood, though, so waiting to clean it could lead to significant damage. If a large coverage area of mold grows over several months, you may want to ask a professional to try to save the piece. If the damage is bad enough, though, even a pro might not be able to save it.

Discuss design preferences and material choices before work begins for cohesive results.

When deciding whether to repair your leather furniture or not, consider a few advantages and disadvantages:

Pros

  • Less expensive than buying a new piece

  • Extends the life of the leather before replacement is necessary

  • Makes your leather item look like new

  • Some repairs are relatively easy

Cons

  • Some repairs may be costly

  • Damage may not be repairable

  • Repairs may not blend perfectly with the original leather

  • May need to leave the piece with a repair expert

Ongoing maintenance of your leather furniture is the only way to prevent it from peeling and cracking. Real leather will peel and crack as it dries out. Leather conditioners are a great way to protect your leather furniture from drying out, and you’ll need to apply it about twice each year. It’s also a good idea to keep abrasive materials away from your leather to prevent cracking and peeling, including belt buckles, shoes, and multi-surface cleaners, especially those that contain alcohol.

Wood filler can be used to repair minor scratches, dents, and damages on wood veneer. Simply scrape the wood filler over the chipped or scratched area. Make sure to leave a little bit more than you need so you can sand it down for a smoother finish. Repaint or restrain the surface to ensure a consistent color.
