"Hang and finish drywall Paint open ceiling in basement Paint walls Install drop ceiling. They did a great job for a fair price and on time. Great communication. Showed up when they said they would each and every time. Good job cleaning up as well. I would definitely hire them again or recommend to anyone."

"Eddie patched two areas in the ceiling. You cannot tell. He identified additional areas that needed to be repaired (and stayed with the original estimate), carefully inserted the patches, applied multiple layers of joint compound and a layer of tape, patiently allowing the joint compound to dry between each layer, sanded and applied prime paint over the area. He was neat and cleaned up during and after the project was finished. He was honest in his appraisal and sincere in his desire that I be satisfied with the job. Highly recommend him."

"1. Storage Shed- the doors were falling off and hinges were bent. He repaired the doors so that they close securely and repainted the shed and contrasting trim. Great job

2. Escape window cover-installed Plexiglas hinged escape window cover. No breakage or cracks, yay!

3. Front Porch-the ceiling on front porch was mildewed, some trim was loose, and material used for ceiling was saggy. He reattached trim, repaired ceiling, and painted it. It looks better now than it did when we moved in 14 years ago.

4. Upstairs bath- Roy removed old ceramic tile floor, and old toilet. This job was complicated because I made a mistake counting the tile boxes. The tile was old so I could not match it exactly. Some of the mosaics were a different color, so I popped out the ones that didn't match and Roy had to put in the tiny correct ones by hand. The size of the new tile was also slightly off, but he installed it beautifully. We are very pleased with the result.

5. Downstairs bath- Removed old toilet and installed new one. Looks great!

This is not the first nor the most difficult job he has done for us and it will not be the last one.

"Jason repainted our wrought iron fence. It had a lot of rust on it, so a lot of grinding was required to prep it for paint. That took a day. On day 2 he did the painting. The fence looks great, the paint was applied liberally yet evenly, and Jason is very nice and very easy to work with.

Popcorn Ceilings questions, answered by experts

After removing any type of skylight, you have a few options for the ceiling. You can patch and repair the ceiling to match the surrounding area, ensuring a smooth and seamless finish. Alternatively, you can install a light fixture or a ceiling fan in place of the skylight to maintain functionality and enhance the room's lighting and ventilation. Ultimately, the choice depends on your preferences and the specific requirements of the space. No matter what you choose, you’ll probably want to call in a pro to help.

Older textures may contain asbestos, requiring careful handling and professional inspection before work begins to ensure safety compliance.

Textured ceilings add visual interest and personality to a room, breaking away from the flat, uniform look of smooth ceilings. They are also practical, as the texture helps to hide imperfections, making them ideal for older homes or spaces prone to wear and tear. Textured ceilings come in a variety of patterns, giving homeowners the flexibility to choose a style that complements their design preferences, whether they want something subtle or more intricate. Additionally, certain textures can help with sound absorption, making rooms quieter and more comfortable.

If your popcorn ceiling is asbestos-free and you are ready for a new look, painting is an option. As long as there is no flaking or other wear, a new coat of paint might be just the thing to refresh the old ceiling. The best way to paint a popcorn ceiling is to use either a paint sprayer or a thick roller to cover the popcorn texture fully. (Do not forget to dust it off beforehand!)

“Note that if you eventually want to remove the popcorn ceiling, a painted ceiling is a labor-intensive job to remove and will cost more,” says Bob Tschudi. “Once painted, the process of removing the popcorn ceiling requires physical scraping as opposed to a spray-and-scrape approach. It’s very labor-intensive, and thus more costly.”

Smooth ceilings create a modern, clean look that helps brighten rooms by reflecting light, making spaces feel more open. They're easy to paint and maintain but can show imperfections. Textured ceilings add character and hide flaws like cracks or uneven drywall. With a range of patterns, you can opt for a subtle texture or something more decorative. The choice between smooth and textured ceilings comes down to your personal style and the look you want for your space.
