"Ryan was great! He arrived when he said he was going to, figured out what was wrong with my door, and got it working better than it ever has before. I'll happily hire him again if I have any similar issues."

"Blake was extremely good at what he did for us. He has a great attention to detail from start to finish. We initially just wanted some door readjusted which he did take care of but we decided to have a French door removed and a sliding door installed and the work he did was excellent!!!! Would recommend Them 100% The way he finished the door was better than we imagined! Before and after 100% improvement"

Small jobs welcome

"Being a landlord, I'm very careful about who goes into my units with my tenants. I want them to be treated very well. I have had tenants contact me after Darren and his team went in to do repairs in the units to let me know how friendly, thorough and clean Darren's work was. I highly recommend A Better Home Handiworks!"

"Very courteous, and on time. Jared fixed three doors that were rubbing on the carpet after installation. His work was flawless and didnâ t take that long to finish. I would highly recommend him to my friends. Thanks Jared!!"

Doors questions, answered by experts

While both sides of a front door should get painted for aesthetic reasons, you don’t have to do each side at the same time. As a matter of fact, you’ll probably want a different paint type and color for the interior section of the door than the exterior side. Consider each side of the door your personal canvas and make the paint match any nearby decor.

New door knobs likely won’t have much of an effect on property value, but they can improve your home’s curb appeal and interior decor, which might lead some buyers to offer more for your home. However, in terms of personal value, adding new door knobs can be a game changer. New door knobs not only function better than older ones in most cases, but they make your home secure, and there’s a lot to be said about the peace of mind a new exterior door knob can provide.

A screen door needs at least two hinges, though most have three or four hinges. The amount of hinges depends on the weight and size of the door. The heavier your door, the more hinges it will need for support. Exterior doors, which are sturdier than interior doors, have the most hinges.

Steel doors have a few primary disadvantages. They’re hard to customize since they can’t be cut to fit an opening; they’re cumbersome and thus difficult to install on your own; and they don’t have the same aesthetic appeal as wood doors. Finally, while they’re highly durable and secure, they are susceptible to dents, scratches, and rusting.

This hack required some hand strength. First, bend the fork's tines. Next, slip the pointed ends into the door latch and close the door. Open the door to remove the fork and break off the fork's handle. Reinsert the fork's head into the door latch and close the door. Finally, slide the fork's handle through the tines, creating a horizontal barrier that prevents the door from opening inward.
