"After getting the run around from other window places and handymen for literal months I called up window medics and had it quoted within a week. Waited one more week for the glass and it ended with a clean 20minute installation. Workers were kind, clean, and professional. If I ever need another job done you can bet Iâ ll be calling Window Medics 1st. Job details: window replacement of a 3rd story swing out window. Old, broken, and moldy window pane replaced and carried off by workers after completing the job."

"We had 3 windows and a patio door installed. John W. and Trey K. did the patio door and Derrick A. & Hugo M. did the windows. They were professional, friendly and did an awesome job and made sure to clean up after they were finished. I would definitely recommend Renewal by Anderson."

Small jobs welcome

"Arrived on time. Trouble shot the problem, found the problem, fixed it. My motion sensor needed to be re mounted after siding crew removed it. It wasn’t getting any juice. Works great now. He also attached the door bell button and replaced the chime box. He will be back to fix a span of my fence in the future."

Window Door Contractors questions, answered by experts

For most common repairs, a professional window repair service can fix a window in one to three hours. However, replacing window frames or repairing a large, multi-pane window will likely take longer to complete. For comparison, a window installation or repair professional should be able to replace up to 15 windows per day.

Egress windows require regular maintenance to ensure they function correctly. This includes cleaning the glass, inspecting the frame and well for debris, and making sure the cover or well drains properly. It is also important to check that the window sills and wells are watertight and to inspect and repair any damage to the window frame or seals to prevent leaks and maintain functionality.

The screen on many screen doors is held in place by screen spline. Screen spline is typically a thin vinyl tubing that fits into the groove of the door’s frame and holds the screen in place. To install the spline on a screen door, you’ll need a spline roller—a tool that presses the spline and screen into the door’s narrow groove. Note that old spline can crack and break, so replacing your screens is a good time to replace the spline, too.

Many windows carry warranties from the manufacturer or installer that may cover the cost of repairs for a fixed amount of time. When installing or replacing windows, ask about any applicable warranties, what kinds of damage and repair they may cover, and what the procedure is for making a warranty claim.

It is generally recommended to remove window screens for the winter, especially in climates with heavy snow, freezing rain, or frigid temperatures. Removing them helps prevent damage to the screen mesh and frames that can be caused by ice and moisture buildup between the screen and the window. Taking out the screens also allows more natural light and warmth into your home during shorter winter days and makes it easier to clean your windows thoroughly. In warmer climates where harsh weather is not a concern, the decision is more about personal preference; some homeowners prefer the clearer view, while others leave them in for convenience.
