"Stay Dry did an awesome job. Luigi and his crew were on site promptly every day. A couple of days proved too windy to work, so they came back that Sunday so that they could finish in a timely manner. They kept us informed as to where they were in the project and finished within the time they indicated. They did a great clean-up job afterwards. Luigi came back to do a walk-around with us to make sure we were satisfied and to answer any questions we had."

"I hired this handyman for a few small projects around my place, and the experience was excellent from start to finish. He showed up on time, communicated clearly about what needed to be done, and worked efficiently without cutting corners. The quality of his work was outstanding—everything was done properly, cleanly, and with real attention to detail. He also took the time to explain options and made practical suggestions that saved me time and money. It’s rare to find someone who is both skilled and genuinely professional, but he absolutely fits that description. I wouldn’t hesitate to hire him again and would confidently recommend him to anyone looking for reliable, high-quality work."

"I hired Darrien from Solid Finish Concrete to put in a new driveway for me, and I’m really happy with how everything turned out. I don’t know much about concrete work, but he explained things in a way I could understand and handled the whole job with honesty and respect. You can tell he takes pride in what he does. The driveway looks great, it was done quicker than I expected, and he kept everything clean while he worked. It’s solid, smooth, and way better than what I pictured when we first talked about it. I’ve known Darrien for a long time, and he’s always been dependable and hardworking. Seeing him do this job just proved it even more. The integrity in which he carried himself with was astounding and his knowledge was vast. I’d absolutely recommend Solid Finish Concrete to anyone who wants good work done by someone they can trust."

Snow Removal questions, answered by experts

The best time to hire a snow removal professional is long before snow falls in your area. Signing up for a seasonal contract not only provides peace of mind that your property will be cleared every time it snows, but it’s also often more affordable to sign a contract than paying for one-off services. If you prefer one-off shoveling services, you should contact your snow removal company the day before a storm is expected to schedule service. You can also call the morning of the snowfall, but this might result in delays.

Generally, snow removal from a roof should occur once over six inches of snow accumulates, especially if you notice that ice dams have formed. Without ice dams, you can let the snow accumulation hit 12 inches before removing it. However, the amount of snow that is too much for your roof also depends on the sturdiness of your roof and the compactness of the snow. If your roof needs maintenance or has structural issues, it’s best not to let the snow accumulate too much for fear of collapsing.

Costs range from $50 to $150 per hour, depending on the property size and service frequency.

Schedule regular snow removal, apply salt or sand to icy areas, and mark hazards like curbs or drains.

There are several ways to remove snow from your roof: using a snow rake, salting the roof with calcium chloride, using a rope (cautiously), and using heating cables. It’s important to mention that pretty, fluffy, sparkling snow weighs a great deal, and when physically removing snow from a roof, you should be aware of large snow slabs breaking off. These can weigh hundreds of pounds and are a real danger, so be extremely careful anytime you’re doing this type of work.
