"Contacted Alex for a quote on an asphalt roof for a fairly large shed. He was able to get me the quote same day and the roof install was scheduled within 10 days. The roofing crew did an excellent job and made quick work of it. We were pleased with the clean up afterwards. Thank you Alex O (Project Manager)and team."

"We made an appointment to have our home done. They showed up and were very professional. They helped us choose a good roof and ordered everything. It arrived early and they got it all done two weeks ahead of schedule. They tore it all off, replaced the roof and cleaned it all very nicely!! Very Good Company!!"

"I must say that we are highly pleased with the work completed by Valor Home Solutions. Ammaron spent most of one day with us working on a plan as to what we wanted as a finished product. At the end of our meeting, we knew what to expect in regard to cost in material, labor, and quality of work. This project involved remodeling a very old bathroom. The old tub was removed, a new modern walk-in shower was installed with all new plumbing, a new floor was installed and deteriorated wood replaced where needed, and a new vanity was installed. Valor Home Solutions did an excellent job at keeping communication open throughout the project. Nothing was done without checking with us to make sure everything was to our expectations and satisfaction. I highly recommend this company to everyone in search of a professional contractor to remodel any part of their home. I am more than happy to have my name used as a referral for Valor Home Solutions. Roofing questions, answered by experts

Look for certified local roofing contractors with plenty of experience working with cedar. There are also several important roofing questions to ask before choosing a roofer, including whether they are licensed, bonded, and insured. Once you’ve rounded up a few good candidates, compare estimates and hire whoever gives you the best bang for your buck.

In most cases, below 40 degrees Fahrenheit is too cold to replace a roof. The cold affects the shingles, making it more difficult to adhere them to your roof. It also becomes dangerous for contractors to get up on your roof in the cold weather, as there can be ice and slush causing surfaces to become slippery.

You can put new shingles over old shingles, but most municipalities only allow for two layers of shingles before you have to rip off the old roof and start fresh. In some areas, only a single layer of shingles is allowed due to the weight a bundle of shingles adds to your structure. In most cases, it’s a good idea to remove your old shingles before you install new shingles, especially if you suspect that a roof leak may have compromised the decking underneath.

Re-roofing is the process of placing a layer of shingles over top of existing shingles, rather than pulling out those shingles and replacing them. Compared to a full roof replacement, re-roofing typically costs less and requires less labor and time. It's not an option for everyone, though. You may need a full roof replacement if your roof already has more than one layer of shingles. A full replacement may also be necessary if your roof has extensive damage.

Yes, shingles should overhang the drip edge, typically between 1/2-inch and 3/4-inch. An overhang shorter than 1/2-inch can allow wind-driven rain to get under the shingles and damage the roof deck or fascia. Conversely, an overhang longer than 3/4-inch increases the risk of shingles getting caught by strong winds, which can lead to roof uplift. Always check your local building code for exact overhang requirements in your area.
