"I had Lagunas Painting paint the main exterior of my home. I didn't plan on having the exterior of my patio room painted. But they did such a good job with the main exterior of my house, I had them paint the exterior of my patio room. I'm so pleased with Laguna's work that I'm going to have them paint the interior of my home as well!!"

"Jack and his crew did a beautiful paint job on the exterior of my home. Jack is an exceptional contractor. He does what he says when he says he will do it! The crew was very systematic, doing all phases of the work in the proper order. They were very neat without any spillage and never left a mess. Jack communicated details of the project with me and performed all work as scheduled. I will rehire JDM Quality Painting for my homes interior."

"Miguel and his team worked non stop to prep, caulk the house the first day. They came back the next day and painted the entire home in one day. The team worked very well together and did an excellent job. I would recommend them to my friends and neighbors. Everyone on our block loves the job they did and the color placement is fenominal. My husband who worked in the construction trades was exceedingly happy with the quality if thier work. Thier cut in work was crisp and sharp. They were easy to talk to and this was a difficult painting job because of all the details on the house. Thier suggestions were well recieved and helped with the 3 colors we wanted incorporated into the painting of the house. In our opinion we are extremely happy with the completed project. We are proudly displaying thier sign in our yard. Will share thier information with everyone who is planning to paint that we know. We will be hiring them again to paint the interior of our house. We highly recommend Painters Plus, LLC"

"They are 2 very hard working men they show up at 9am and stop around 6pm. If you want rotted wood removed and replaced tell them up front or they may paint over. They will do what is asked but they aren't mind readers. Overall very happy with their hard work quality dedication to finishing the job in the time frame quoted."

Interior Painting questions, answered by experts

Yes, you can pressure wash epoxy floors, but you must take precautions to avoid damaging the surface. While most epoxy floors can be cleaned with a mop, you might choose to pressure wash if the floor is stained, has ground-in dirt, or is covered with mold or mildew. To do so safely, first soak any stains or dirty areas with a gentle cleanser. Use a lower pressure setting with a gentle nozzle, such as a green, white, or black tip, or a 45-degree angled tip. Keep the spray nozzle at least 18 inches away from the floor to protect the surface. Using a surface cleaner attachment or a rotary scrubber can also help prevent overspray. Be cautious if using a power washer that heats the water, as the combination of heat and pressure may be too powerful and could damage the epoxy coating.

Professionals use safe, efficient methods that protect surfaces and prepare for new finishes.

Yes, WD-40 can be used to remove dried paint, including spray paint, from surfaces like metal because it acts as a solvent. To use this method, spray enough WD-40 to completely cover the paint and let it sit for five to ten minutes. Afterward, gently scrub the area with a cloth to remove the paint. Be aware that this method might leave behind a greasy film that can attract dirt.

Yes, you can paint over old exterior paint, but success depends on the condition of the existing paint and proper surface preparation. If the previous coating is in good shape (not cracked, peeling, or flaky), you can paint over it with less prep work. However, for the most durable and professional-looking results, follow these key preparation steps:

  • Clean the Surface: Thoroughly clean the exterior to remove all dirt, grime, and mildew. A pressure washer can be very effective for this.

  • Scrape and Sand: If the old paint is peeling, cracked, or flaky, you must scrape off all loose paint. After scraping, sand the surface to create a smooth, even base for the new paint. Sanding is especially important for wood siding.

  • Apply Primer: Using a quality exterior primer is highly recommended. It ensures the new paint adheres properly, improves durability, and provides a uniform finish. If you are painting a lighter color over a dark one, a tinted primer will help cover the old color more effectively.

Some brands offer paint-and-primer-in-one products for convenience. Taking the time to prepare the surface properly will not only increase your home's curb appeal but also help protect your siding and extend its life.

You do not have to remove lead paint if the surface is not chipping or peeling or if there are no pregnant people or children under the age of six who live in or regularly visit your home. Lead paint is a particular risk for young children whose brains and bodies are not fully developed. Experts strongly recommend that you call a pro to remove lead paint if it’s peeling or flaking, no matter who lives in the home. You can experience lead poisoning by breathing in or ingesting just a small amount of it.
