Family owned & operated. 3 EMPLOYEES. Subcontractors are used on extremely large projects, and on plumbing and electrical projects. We are licensed and bonded, we also carry a $1,000,000 insurance policy. We will charge mileage on any job more than 30 miles away. Pricing is determined by the square foot on most projects, certain projects can not be bid by the square foot, so they must go on an hourly basis. We operate the most efficient dustless sanding equipment in the area.

Canyon Creek employs approximately 275 people in a state-of-the-art, 250,000 square-foot facility in Monroe, WA. We have been recognized by a number of organizations for our focus on sustainable manufacturing, and are certified in the KCMA's Environmental Stewardship Program. We market our products through kitchen & bath showrooms throughout the U.S., as well as contractors in Western Washington.

"I went with Canyon Creek for my kitchen cabinets because they were local and had a good reputation. Given my experience, I have to advise against anyone using them right now. They are having horrible quality control and production issues and one out of every two of my cabinets had something wrong with them. As the contractor and I unboxed them, the joke became that they only thing that they got right was the color. Some were minor issues (ex. paint) but most were head-scratching/how-did-this get-shipped errors like cabinets built upside down or doors mounted on the wrong side. There were cabinets that were supposed to be drawers had doors. The shaker front drawers had slab fronts. The Upper shelf bracket holes were drilled at different levels (a real issue since they were open/glass front). The list was long but what was even more disppointing is how they responded to the errors. We were told we could reject them and wait an additional 12 weeks for new cabinets (which would have resulted in pushing all our sub-contractors and the project in total back - mind you we were a full remodel and down to the studs at this point) or they would just send us replacement parts to install ourselves. After a price analysis, I decided the labor of the reworking was cheaper than waiting 12 weeks and losing my sub-contractors and having to delay the project which meant extending rental agreements, etc. Little did I know that it would mean that I would be waiting an additional 6 MONTHS for the random drawer fronts and panels and components to come trickling in without rhyme, reason or any communication from Canyon Creek. All we were told when we emailed or called was there were "production issues". And because they required 100% of the payment up front, there was no recourse to hold back final payment. It honestly breaks my heart to write a review like this for a local company that had such a good reputation with such solid product in the past. I have come to understand talking with some insiders that they are under "new leadership" and have automated their production so it is not the hand-crafted cabinets of pre-2020. Buyers beware!"

My name is don rindahl. My wife and i relocated to the cda area august 2012 from milwaukee, wi. I owned and operated a general contracting business since 1997. The five years prior, i worked as a kitchen and bath designer for a premier design firm in the milwaukee metropolitan areas. My business specialized in custom interior renovations including kitchen and bathroom design and remodel, custom finish moldings, casing, base and crown. I also remodel spaces into recreation rooms and offices. I expedited all phases of the job. If i did not complete the trade work myself, i would coordinate the master tradesmen to complete permitted work. I have extensive knowledge in all phases of remodeling, inside and outside the home. I am also certified for safe lead removal. I come to you with a midwest work ethic, i am well spoken, i present myself well, i am an extreme people person, i consider myself an ambassador of the company, i do not have a criminal record and most importantly, i am drug free. My mission statement has always been to work for a referral first and a paycheck second.

Custom Cabinet manufacturer. Produce built to order products for kitchen, bath, home office, home entertainment, laundry, closet, and garage. Additional DBA - T R A Industries & Huntwood Custom Cabinets.

"Where to even start with Huntwood. Things started out great and just keep getting worse and worse....we're over 5 months into dealing with them and I don't see any end in sight. Cons: -Cabinets arrived in November and it's now April and I'm STILL dealing with these issues. Cabinets arrived with many many defects out of the box. Edge banding issues, bubbles in the veneer finish, chips in orders, over-sanded corners, dents, and scratches. Terrible quality in repair work: In an effort to save themselves from a full replacement, -Huntwood sent a technician (who people keep saying is the best) to perform repairs. This resulted in discoloration of the corners which drew the eye to the area even more. The technician got adhesive spray on our brand new refrigerator, which we were able to remove, but still. Basically put a band-aid over gaping wounds - not totally the tech's fault. Send them to repair something that truly just needs to be replaced and that's what happens. -Huntwood sent a customer service manager who tried to tell me that what I was seeing was incorrect. Despite several others from Huntwood acknowledging and clearly documenting obvious issues. Was then told many of the cabinet fronts would be replaced and was given a list (finally). Only part of that list was ever replaced and no explanation as to why. -The 1st set of replacements arrived the first time with a completely different stain color, so I had to refuse those. -The 2nd set of replacements arrived the second time looking good, but the installer mis-drilled the holes for the handles (which I supplied before he installed) and had to be replaced. -3rd time they came with "replacements" they arrived with the ORIGINAL doors with all of the damage which was the entire reason for the replacement in the first place. They had obviously used those original panels to perform poor repair work that just looked awful. -Overall - received poor communication throughout the entire process. Almost zero status updates were offered - I had to hunt this down every time. Don't be fooled by Huntwood's showroom or their expensive cabinets. These are no more quality than you would get anywhere else - truly. You will not get consistent looking cabinets and god help you if you end up needing any repair work. I truly regret choosing them for our kitchen, as this whole process with them has been a nightmare.  The remainder of our cabinets in the house we got from a local cabinet maker who delivered amazing vanities as well as other custom cabinets. None of these had one issue and are very high quality and I'm very much regretting not just going with them instead. My husband and I put a lot of time, effort, and money into our remodel and the rest of the house looks awesome. I'm very sad that I have a beautiful new home with a subpar kitchen. "

FAQs for woodworking projects in Coeur D Alene, ID

The average cost to hire a woodworker for a project in your home is around $65 per hour, but hourly rates can range from $35 to $250 or more, depending on the experience and skill of the woodworker. Your total woodworking project cost will depend on the complexity of the work, the type of wood, the number of projects, and any other materials your project requires. You could hire a professional woodworker to create everything from a custom cabinet to ornate, unique staircases.

Hiring a woodworker can be expensive, depending on the job, but it’s very often well worth the investment. Woodworkers are able to provide custom pieces of furniture and handmade construction to present a finished product that is exactly to your specifications. If you have a specific vision for a one-of-a-kind piece of furniture or home feature, the cost of hiring a professional woodworker is worthwhile. Plus, you’ll often get a higher quality product than what you could buy in stores for a fraction of the price.

Every woodworker has different skills and experience, so we recommend asking the following questions when hiring a woodworker for your project:

  • How long have you been in the woodworking industry?

  • What experience do you have with my type of project?

  • Do you have customer references I can speak with?

  • How long do you expect my project to take?

  • What is my recourse if I have an issue with your work?

  • Do you charge hourly or per project?

  • Will you work on-site or in your own workshop?

  • Does your fee include the necessary post-job clean-up?

While they perform similar tasks, a carpenter is responsible for the woodworking that goes into construction—like framing, installing sheathing, and hanging kitchen cabinets—while a woodworker tackles more intricate and custom projects—like building custom furniture and installing wainscoting. Based on these definitions, most woodworkers can tackle the jobs of a carpenter, but you should always ask about your specific project when choosing a woodworker to ensure they have the necessary skills to tackle the job.

It may seem simple to install trim, wainscoting, and other finishing wood in your home, but the work is complicated and often frustrating. Getting small trim pieces to line up evenly without gaps and look streamlined in a finished product is a real challenge for DIYers, even if you have the necessary tools. We recommend hiring a professional woodworker for these more intricate projects. They’ll get the job done more quickly, and they’ll have the experience necessary to make everything look neat and clean to add more value to your home.
