"I don?t know that I would trust these guys. I received a quote to replace my pump. Agreed to do everything they suggested. The day they did the work, everything went smoothly. Unfortunately the outcome wasn?t what I was hoping for - increased water production on a poor production well, but that?s not their fault. Here?s where you shouldn?t trust them. Right as the job was finished, a fourth guy showed up. He sorta fumbled around and did nothing, apparently he was their solar guy. When they were ?finished? two of the workers demanded payment, one of which was pretty rude about it. It felt odd considering the job wasn?t completed, they were supposed to come back the next day and install a bracket to support the water line. They left all my old well pump, pipe, and wires which is what I wanted. They took the pump controller that was less than a year old. Then I get the bill and it?s $600 more than I agreed to with no explanation, other than the fumbling solar guy said it took 4 guys. "

A submersible pump should be at least 10 feet from the bottom of the well to minimize the risk of the pump drawing debris into the well water. Submersible pumps work best for wells that are 25 feet deep or less. If you have a deeper well, choose a jet pump instead of a submersible model.

If you notice any changes to the water coming from your well, consider that a sign to get a well inspection. There are a few reasons your irrigation pump isn’t pulling in water. You could have a clogged suction filter. You may have not properly primed your pump so air got stuck somewhere in the system. Your pump also won’t work properly if it has faulty or damaged pump components, like a pump motor or pressure switch.

Most submersible well pumps last eight to 15 years, depending on the quality, type, and how well they’re maintained. Lower-quality submersible pumps that are poorly maintained will not last very long, but higher-quality pumps can last 15 to 25 years (or even longer). Jet pumps last eight to 10 years.
