"I’ve used this service for three years and my lawn looks worse than it ever has. I wouldn’t leave this review, but unfortunately after being threatened to be taken to small claims court over $68 I feel the need to share my story. I received a letter last fall saying they were switching over to ACH, in order to continue service you had to update your account with ACH info. I thought, great! I don’t want to continue because my lawn looks terrible after 3 years of using them so I won’t update to ACH. Fast forward to spring 2022, someone comes and does first round and leaves an invoice. I email and say I was surprised to see the invoice (since I hadn’t updated to ACH payments) and honestly my lawn is awful and I don’t want the service. They say I had to provide 30 day written notice to cancel. Invoice is still due. I asked someone to come look at my lawn, no one comes. I call them a couple months later because my lawn looks EVEN WORSE if possible.. (huge thistles, weeds of every variety) I tell them I do not feel that I should have to pay this invoice for a service I didn’t expect to receive on top of the fact that 3 years of service has clearly not been effective. I showed pictures since no one would come out.. literally all I get in response is a threat to take me to small claims court if the invoice isn’t paid. Like after all the money I had already paid wasn’t enough, they really want to fight a customer over $68 rather than trying to mend a situation. All in all, they don’t care about you or the service they provide."

Whether organic or synthetic fertilizers are better for your lawn depends on your goals, budget, and plans for other lawn treatments. Organic fertilizer costs more but is likely to benefit your lawn more in the long run by improving the soil as well as feeding your grass. Synthetic fertilizers get faster results but don’t enrich the soil and may contaminate nearby bodies of water if you live on a shoreline. How often you should fertilize your lawn depends on its health. A healthy, lush lawn with good soil health may only need fertilizing once per year. Other lawns with shallow roots or that have been neglected or overly reliant on fertilizers may need an application as often as every six weeks.

You can fertilize right after mowing as long as you've collected the clippings. If you leave grass clipping, they can form a mat that prevents the fertilizer from reaching the soil. Plus, grass clippings are rich in nitrogen, so if you leave them and then apply fertilizer, you can end up with too much nitrogen in the soil.

You can also apply a thin layer of compost on top of your lawn at the beginning of spring to give the grass a nutrition boost, which helps it achieve that bright color you are looking for.
