The guys did a super job! The tree still has a great shape to it, and as far as lighting up the garden, it could not have been any better. I was hoping that what I wanted would work. It both worked and exceeded my expectations.
Good clean up! I would definitely recommend.
Paul
PS: I gave a B for price, only because I have nothing to compare with. I will not mention the type of customer service, and total lack of communication, I received from other tree trimmers in Cedar Rapids. I try not to use such language. I believe the quote from Greg's, and price paid, was very reasonable.
That was bad enough but they weren't going to do anything about it until we badgered them about compensation..
Eventually they and the herbicide company paid to replace some of our
trees, but it wasn't worth the hassle of dealing with these guys again.
Also, they tried to f**** an "opt out" agreement with us. That is,
unless we told them in writing that we did NOT want them to treat our
lawn, they would assume our contract with them was still valid and that
they'd continue to treat our lawn and bill us. I didn't like that. and I
wouldn't use them again.
Update: I do recognize that I signed a waiver of claims for ultilites et.al for my property, as stated and per provided, I did however, not ask my neighbors to sign MY contact, I DID show Greg's staff the lot line (which is obvious) nor did I OR my neighbors aurthorize Greg's to trepass on their property, on which this damage was inflicted upon. If this fence were on property I fully concur and agree it was my reponsibility, it however was not. So potential customers if you use Greg's in the future please be aware YOU are responsible for any damage they cause not only to your property but to the property of your neighbors, passers by, etc. as well...let the buyer beware
"Greg’s Lawn Service, Inc. entered into a Contract/Terms and Condition (see attached) with the member on April 2011. Greg’s Lawn Service, Inc. & the member agreed to do the project for sod removal and mulching. We completed the project on April 5, 2011. The member stated that he was not happy with some of the project and met with Mr. Blake Shaw – Project Manager for Greg’s Lawn Service, Inc. All issues were addressed and resolved. The member paid for the project in full on May 24, 2011. Greg’s Lawn Service, Inc. received calls from the member and his neighbors stating that we did a project for the members and while doing this we hit their invisible dog fence. Greg’s Lawn Service, Inc. stated that we did a job at the member’s and was not on the neighbor’s property. As stated in the Terms and Conditions: 8. UNDERGROUND UTILITIES. GLSI is not responsible for the location of, or damage to, any utility lines, public or private, not marked, not installed by code or made known to us which may include, but not be limited to, existing sprinkler systems, exterior lights, yard lights, security lights, pool electrical or gas lines, underground wells, water lines, dog wires, invisible dog fence, drainage lines, sump pump lines or septic systems. Prior to the commencement of our work, Client agrees to locate and identify all private underground utilities that may interfere with our work. Per the member, he stated that Blake Shaw agreed to pay for this invisible dog fence invoice. Blake Shaw left employment with Greg’s Lawn Service, Inc. therefore Greg Scharf (owner) put in a call to Blake Shaw. Once Blake Shaw returned the call, Mr. Scharf asked what he had agreed upon. Blake explained to the member that per the Terms and Conditions it is the homeowners responsibility to mark any private utilities. If the neighbors invisible fence was on the member’s property it was not marked before any construction was started. Lisa Fox – Landscaping Coordinator placed a call to the neighbors and the members stating Greg’s Lawn Service, Inc. will not be responsible for the Invisible dog fence repair $120.00."
