Warranties offered

"They punctured the stand pipe to my upstairs bath room with a screw and after the screw corroded, I had sewage leaking inside my wall in my kitchen and into my basement cement blocks. They left the house without siding during the middle of the winter. Wanted full payment before they completed the job. Didn't complete the trim painting until July. Job was contracted in the prior Fall. They kept putting off my job until it ended up not being completed until the following summer. Very dissatisfied with work and the negative attitude of Brian regarding payment for work that was not completed. Repair work was done by another company as I would never recommend or hire Buresh again."

Customers say: Quality work

"These were the nicest guys to work with and everything went great for the most part. We did a full basement finish with a bedroom. Our first project with a contractor and weren’t quite sure how everything should work. We did get or sign a contract everything was on our/their word which I would do differently next time just to keep expectations clear, we didn’t really have any issues from that though I wasn’t sure if I was reminding them of things or they just hadn’t gotten to them yet, but they did everything they said they would plus. The basement looks awesome and we are very happy. Just a few last minute touch ups on the walls that I’m going to redo myself I’m pretty picky. These guys showed up every time they said they would which was the most impressive. They got back with me on every text I sent by next day and they couldn’t have been a nicer. I don’t know how their costs compare, they were in our price range and we really liked the guys so we went with them. Very happy with how it all turned out."

"Great quality service overall. They installed fiber cement siding and painted our house. They also resurfaced our deck as well. They were very professional and did quality work. Great attention to details, too! High caliber customer service- whenever I had questions or concerns, Nick would reply promptly via email, text, or a phone call. I would definitely hire them again and would recommend them to anyone."

Siding questions, answered by experts

Though vinyl siding is affordable, the material may not last as long or look as good as other siding materials. For example, wood siding has a beautiful, natural appearance but requires much more maintenance to keep your siding looking as good as new.

Fiber cement siding is another alternative that mimics the appearance of wood siding. Like vinyl siding, fiber cement is a low-maintenance material, but it does come at a higher price and is heavier and more difficult to install. Weigh the pros and cons of all siding materials before you decide on the best option for your home.

Vines can cause severe damage to your siding. They can grow underneath and all around siding, which can cause it to pop off or split. Vines also trap moisture, which can damage siding by causing rot. The cost to replace siding may make you consider getting rid of the ivy or adding a trellis or lattice support for it to grow on instead.

To calculate how much siding you need for exterior walls, first measure the height and width of the rectangular walls. For the triangular gable walls, measure the width and then the height from the ground to the tallest gable point.

  • For the rectangular walls, the calculation is: length x height

  • For the triangular gable walls, the calculation is: (length x height) / 2

Once you add these up, include an additional 10% to account for any wastage.

While homeowners' insurance can include coverage for siding, general wear and tear of siding is not covered. If your siding is rotting—especially because you haven’t kept up with proper siding maintenance—replacement siding will likely not be covered by your homeowners' insurance policy. Instead, insurance generally covers siding repair or replacement if your siding has been damaged by extreme weather, vandalism, fire, or some kind of collision, like by a vehicle.

Generally speaking, the thicker the siding, the higher the quality. Thicker siding provides a stronger resistance against extreme weather conditions. Thicker siding also tends to fade more slowly under the sun. Hardie boards, a popular fiber cement siding option, is usually 5/16 inches thick. Meanwhile, masonry-finished cement siding varies from 5/8 to 5/8 inches thick.
