"Our radon specialist, Tim Milledge, was terrific. Communication was excellent, he arrived on time, was professional, courteous and experienced. He was able to run the pipe line and place the other equipment in a way to be unobtrusive and did nothing to detract from the aesthetics of our property. He explained post procedures and cleaned up after himself, unusual these days with service providers, and completed the installation quickly and efficiently. We would highly recommend SWAT and, in particular Tim."

Emergency services offered

"The first  contact was answered promptly and an estimate meeting was arranged. A few days later the estimate  and shingle color samples were delivered by mail.  No better estimates came.  In fact, most companies contacted failed to respond at all.  When I accepted the offer, we talked again to schedule the job.  He estimated the job would start on July 16, and it did.
They started early on the first day, worked nearly until dark, and came back to finish the next day.  They were done by mid-afternoon.Apart from the roof being all new, I could hardly tell they had been there.  No mess, no mashed plantings, no shingle fragments or nails lying about.  Still waiting for a rain to test it, but it looks great."

Radon Detection and Reduction questions, answered by experts

The lifespan of a radon mitigation system depends on the type of system and its maintenance. With proper care, a system can last for many decades. Passive systems tend to last longer as they have fewer components that require replacement. Active systems, which have more moving parts like fans, generally have a shorter lifespan. For instance, water filtration devices and active pressurization systems require more frequent maintenance. While the system as a whole is durable, the radon fan in an active system typically has a lifespan of 5 to 10 years and will need to be replaced. As long as the fan is working, the mitigation system should function correctly.

Your radon mitigation system may be loud because it’s time to replace it. Any sounds are usually from the inline fan that helps create the vacuum and resulting airflow. If you hear a new, loud mechanical or humming noise from your radon fan, it might be time to replace it. Most fans used in radon mitigation systems last up to 10 years, but may need to be replaced sooner.

Options include sub-slab depressurization, crawlspace ventilation, and sealing cracks. Choose based on home construction and radon levels.

Radon is a cancer-causing radioactive gas that poses serious health risks, infiltrating homes through foundation cracks and unnoticed spaces.

Testing every 2-5 years or upon adjusting occupancy or structural changes maintains safe environments.
