The Jensen family’s history in electrical work spans three generations. It began with Kyle’s grandfather, who spent 47 years as a maintenance electrician with Mountain Bell. That dedication to craftsmanship continued with Kyle’s father, a well-respected electrical contractor in Southern Utah. Following in their footsteps, Kyle entered the trade early—starting as an apprentice at 16, earning his Journeyman license in 2002, and achieving his Master Electrician license in 2006. With that deeply rooted family foundation, he brings decades of hands-on knowledge to every project.\n\n

"Working with Magic Electric was a great experience. As a new home owner of an older house I was needing an entire rewire as well as some new outlet, fixtures, and ceiling fans placed. Magic Electric was professional, prompt, and offered very competitive prices. I was very happy with the end result and 10/10 would hire again!"

"This company is obviously nationwide and hires local contractors.  I trusted Agies List that all contractors are licensed, bonded and have background checks.  This person was a handyman and not qualified to wall mount, conceal wires, add electrical outlet.  He  spend five hours in my home, for a job that should have taken two hours and left the area in a disaster.  The TV was hung close to the ceiling, the wires were hanging down from the TV, and the receiver was sitting on top of a plaster box because the cord was too short.  He was obviously not qualified to install TV wall mounts.  I have photos.    As soon as he left, I called Best Buy Geek Squad.  They were able to come out the next day and mount the TV professionally.  I have used the geek squad in Virginia and they are highly qualified.  They charge more than this nationwide company but you get what you pay for.  I called Angies List the day after the disaster and said i did not want to rate this company but I wanted to talk to a manager. No one called me to apologize. I have cancelled my membership.  Do not use this company unless you can be assured that the local contractor is qualified and is licensed.  You should never let anyone into your home that has not had background checks.

"I just pay $75 you never know who's going to come out. They do everything electrical. Just about everything is covered except the septic tank. I had an air conditioner replaced. It went great, all I had to do was pay for the freon. He didn't charge e more than what was needed."

Electrical questions, answered by experts

Schedule electrical projects in Jefferson if you experience flickering lights, warm outlets, frequent breaker trips, or see outdated wiring such as knob and tube. Homes built before 1980 or using many extension cords are due for upgrades. Plan projects in spring or fall for easier scheduling. Most electrical work requires permits, so consult a local professional to ensure your home meets current safety standards.

Helpful?

In Jefferson, smart home upgrades like WiFi-enabled outlets, smart thermostats, and integrated security systems are trending. Energy-efficient LED lighting and motion-sensor outdoor lights are popular for both convenience and safety. Many homeowners are adding USB charging outlets and under-cabinet lighting in kitchens. Electric vehicle charging stations are also gaining traction as more residents plan for future technology needs.

Helpful?

Completing electrical projects in Jefferson offers immediate benefits like improved home electrical safety, enhanced lighting, and reliable power for appliances. Over the long term, updated wiring and modern features increase property value, reduce energy consumption, and lower the risk of electrical hazards. These upgrades also make your home ready for new technologies, such as solar panels or electric vehicle charging, supporting future needs.

Helpful?

Electrical work in Jefferson can impact systems like HVAC, sump pumps, and home security. If you notice your heating, cooling, or internet devices malfunctioning after electrical updates, it may signal a broader issue. Watch for multiple systems losing power or not responding. For large projects, coordinate with a licensed electrician to ensure all interconnected systems remain functional and avoid unexpected disruptions.

Helpful?

For minor electrical issues in Jefferson, always start by shutting off the power at the breaker and double-checking with a non-contact voltage tester. You can safely replace light bulbs, reset GFCI outlets, or change outlet covers if the area is dry. Avoid touching wires or working near moisture. For anything beyond these basics, or if issues persist, contact a licensed electrician for home electrical safety.
