"Great service. Abraham had patience with all my questions and he is easy to work with. I worked from home while they did the insulation and there was minimal impact or inconvenience during my workday."

Small jobs welcome

"We have an Older home so some of the construction was differant but Shannon was able to solve any problems and did a great job of Insulating our side walls and the attic. We will now have a warm and cozy home. We can already feel the difference. We are waiting for the first utility bill after this was done to see how much our heating bill goes down. Would highly recommend S and K for insulation services. Dennis J"

"Working with L&L was an easy and good experience. Communication was clear and timely, the installers arrived on-time and the work was of good quality. L&L is a very customer friendly, cost competitive alternative for anyone who needs insulation work done in their home. I would definitely use them again and, in fact, may do so in the spring."

"Jeff Smith is based at the Waterloo office. He was very good at customer service & responded to my emails in a reasonable time given this is probably a busy time of the year (November) for them. I am having additional blow in insulation behind a knee wall & in the attic to bring me up to code. The work has not been completed yet. I am waiting for an energy audit. That is why I can only rate the company as a 3."

"Abraham and his crew are amazing! He came highly recommended from my best friend that her home insulated. Fantastic communication, easy to work with, even when we had extra questions and concerns due to bad service people we had previously worked with. He eased our minds, he's professional and his crew was polite and cleaned up everything at the end of insulating our 3 attics!"

Insulation questions, answered by experts

When looking for a company who installs insulation, your best bet is usually to work with an insulation contractor or professional insulation company. If you can't find a local insulation company, working with a general contractor can be another option. No matter who you hire, always confirm that they have experience.

Rockwool insulation can last up to 100 years, but just how long this insulation lasts in your home depends on how well it's maintained. Poorly installed insulation may last only 30 years, so be sure to regularly inspect your home's insulation for water damage, settling, and pests to give your insulation the best chance of having a long lifespan.

Garage door insulation can last anywhere from 20 to 100 years depending on the type of insulation. Cellulose has the shortest lifespan coming in at between 20 and 30 years, while spray foam, mineral wool, and fiberglass can last between 80 and 100 years with proper maintenance.

Humidity plays a role in how long more susceptible insulation materials—like fiberglass—last. Once fiberglass batts reach the 15-year mark, you'll need to routinely inspect your insulation to ensure that it is in mint order.

Bathroom wall insulation not only keeps the area temperate, but it also reduces instances of mold, mildew, and rot. Bathrooms, after all, are havens for moisture. With this in mind, it’s absolutely worth it to insulate bathroom walls since it saves money in the long run. You won’t have to hire a pricey mold remediation service down the line. Also, insulation decreases outdoor noise and lowers energy costs.

Your home's location, budget, and the type of insulation you’re using are just a few of the factors that can help you choose the right insulation. For example, blown-in insulation is typically used in attic spaces, while batts and rolls are ideal for floors and walls. Blown-in insulation is usually a good option if you're adding more insulation to an area that already has some, but not enough.
