"They came within a week. Because we are also doing some renovation at the same time on our bathroom, the price is $14000. They were very thorough. They took measurements, came up with some ideas and what the concerns were in my basement, which I kind of already knew, but it made me feel better that I were thinking the same thing. The owner of the company came out a second time to go over some stuff with me and to look it over and make sure that I was comfortable with everything that I was doing. That was really cool. The other place that I've asked for a quote, couldn't even give me a quote until August."

"Todd did what seemed an efficient job until--- next day came back to repair a pipe that had been knocked loose while he worked.
Came back about 1 week later to reverse the hot and cold water pipes on the shower, they were installed correctly on the outside  but on the inside they were reversed,ie, cold water came out of the left faucet and hot water out of the right faucet.
Recently, we had to shut the water off to the stool. I received a $200+ water bill and they suggested that a stool had been running for three days which coincides with when the water was shut off from the stool. I informed Todd and he said he stands behind his work and I am sure he does, but I don't care to use his services."

"

Plumber called about 30 minutes before arriving (as promised upon setting appointment). She wore booties, tested leak under disposal and showed us the actual source of the leak. The connector to the trap was cracked so that and the trap were also replaced. After installing new disposal and testing everything carefully, the plumber left our kitchen very clean and neat. We were given options before deciding what (if any) disposal would be installed. All in all, this was a good experience.

Toilets questions, answered by experts

You can pour bleach down the toilet as long as you dilute it since undiluted bleach can damage your toilet bowl. If you choose to use bleach to remove stains from your toilet, mix every cup of bleach with a gallon of water. You should also follow safety precautions when using bleach, like working in a well-ventilated area, wearing gloves, and never mixing it with any other cleaner.

Common problems include leaks, clogs, and running water. Regular maintenance prevents most issues.

Many homeowners stress about cleaning before an emergency plumber arrives, but you’re far better off doing the following while you wait for your plumber to get to your home:

  • Shut the water off at your water main if you have a leak or a burst pipe

  • Avoid using any water fixtures in your home, including appliances

  • Clear a path to the problem area so that it’s easily accessible

  • Consider shutting your breaker if you’re concerned that the leak may affect your electrical system

Start by gutting the old fixtures and features that need to be removed, such as the tile, vanity, and flooring. You may benefit by removing the toilet, even if you intend to use the same one. Next, install the new shower or tub, followed by the flooring, and then the drywall, which you should then paint. After that, install your new cabinets, vanity, countertop, sink, and faucet, in that order. Replace your light fixture next. Lastly, reconnect the toilet.

The lifespan of a toilet can vary significantly. While the porcelain body itself can last up to 50 years or more with proper care, most plumbers suggest an average functional lifespan of 10 to 25 years, and many homeowners replace their toilets after about 20 years.

A toilet's longevity is influenced by factors like maintenance quality, hard water buildup, and damage to the finish. It's also important to note that internal components have much shorter lifespans than the bowl; for example, flappers may last only a few years, while fill valves can last around 10 years.

Even if an older toilet is still functional, consider upgrading to a high-efficiency model to save on water costs.
