"Have used this company twice and would highly recommend. First time they leveled a patio that had sloped towards the house which was causing water problems. That job was done above and beyond expectations. Second time they raised the front walk from the driveway to the front porch with excellent results. Absolutely no mess with incredible results. Very willing to work with you."

"My husband and I came to the realization that we needed to replace our garage floor that had never been level, sloped to the center, and had deepening hazardous cracks. The asphalt drive also needed to be replaced. We used Angi, which is nice because you can see all of the reviews of each of the companies represented on the site. We chose 3 contractors for estimates. When Chris Hayes, the owner of Professional Contracting Iowa, showed up for the second estimate, we canceled the third one.. Chris was as impressive as were his dozens of 5 star reviews. Chris’s experience and expertise, and his communication skills to explain each problem and the best option for a quality and lasting fix, are top notch. I know nothing about construction and/or concrete, but Chris explained the replacement process well. My husband understands more as an architect, and was just as sold on Chris’s company. Chris’s crew was dealing with scattered rainstorms for a couple of weeks before our planned project, and we let him know that ours could be delayed if they needed to catch up. But his crew managed to make it on the scheduled day just several hours late. Bob, Mike and James arrived that afternoon and were professional, friendly, and focused on getting the garage floor and asphalt torn out so that they could pour the next day. But about 2 hours into the job, they discovered that they had not one, but 3 asphalt drives to tear out. The depth of the asphalt was 9 inches. That is a major deal since asphalt is more difficult to remove than concrete. At 6 pm, they had a total of 8 guys plus Chris working on the project until 9:30 pm. It was really hot, but all of them continued to have a positive attitude and were very friendly and courteous to any neighbors walking by. They were all coming back the next day at 7, but more rain delayed the start time until 10:30. They all worked very late again, but the pouring was done before they left! It is so refreshing to work with a contractor and crew that is responsive, dependable, and is interested in doing only high quality work. Nobody really wants to replace concrete drives or garage floors, but I am sure that when any of my neighbors have to do it, they will be calling me for the contact information for Chris and Professional Contracting iowa!"

"Anchored Walls made it easy to get the work completed. Estimate was done quickly and professionally. I spoke with 2 other companies who were impossible to chase down for estimates. Anchored Walls always answered their phones and made the entire process stress free. Would recommend and use again, need be.

"I had multiple companies who come out and they were the one who had the best presentation. The price was very comparable and the work was great. They did a great job completing the work within the time frame and cleaning up."

Concrete Leveling questions, answered by experts

Mudjacking is suitable for sidewalks, driveways, patios, and nearly all exterior flat structures. However, it may not suit severely damaged or heavily cracked areas.

Mudjacking can be an expensive foundation repair process, but in many cases, it’s well worth the investment. This is especially true if you’re lifting a portion of sunken foundation slab back into place. In that case, mudjacking can help avoid major structural damage and even home collapse by restoring the integrity of your structure with minimally invasive procedures. Mudjacking a concrete patio, walkway, or sidewalk can be worthwhile because it removes tripping hazards and makes your outdoor area more aesthetically appealing.

The average cost for mudjacking is around $1,200, though prices can range from $300 to $3,400. On a per-square-foot basis, you can expect to pay between $3 and $8, with an average of about $5 per square foot. The final cost depends on several factors, including the square footage of the concrete, the type of slab, its accessibility, whether it is load-bearing, and the type of material used to lift it. Generally, lifting a driveway, small patio, or sidewalk is less expensive than lifting a slab foundation or garage floor.

The timeframe is generally a few hours, allowing for immediate use post-hydration, ensuring minimal disruption to surrounding activities.

There is no real alternative to underpinning, although mudjacking and polyjacking are other repair methods that can add support from underneath your foundation. Rather than placing supportive piers under your structure, these involve pumping a material under your slab to lift a sunken section back into its original position. Polyjacking, in particular, is sometimes a suitable solution for stabilization issues under slab foundations, but underpinning is often accepted as the best and most permanent solution.
