Customers say: Quick response

"Jack did an awesome job on our basement! We threw him a few curve balls with some complicated features and he delivered just what we imagined. We had an unfinished basement so he put in a family room with a stone fireplace and built a mantle; a bedroom with custom built bookshelves and barn doors; and a bathroom with excellent tile work and heated floor. Jack was reliable and very accommodating. Whatever we asked he was able to figure out a way to make it happen. We are more than happy with the finished product and the value for our money. I would highly recommend his services! We plan to use him in the future."

"Louis was professional, courteous, kind, knowledgable, and informative. I would hire him again, and again, rinse and repeat. It did seem a little pricey, but I don't know what his actual accrued costs were to complete the task."

Pool Table Assembly questions, answered by experts

Concrete pools have the longest life span. As long as you properly maintain your concrete pool, you can expect it to last 50 to 100 years. That said, you will need to resurface your concrete pool as it ages. Fiberglass is durable, but fiberglass pools generally only last around 25 to 30 years. That said, some high-end fiberglass pools can last more than 50 years if they’re well-maintained.

Technically, you can fill in a pool yourself—with the caveat that filling in a pool requires the ability to drain the pool properly and move a substantial amount of dirt, which aren’t beginner DIY skills. If you want to fill in a pool, you’re better off hiring a local pool removal professional.

There are three types of pool filters—cartridge, sand, and D.E. (diatomaceous earth). Cartridge and sand filters are the most popular types and are affordable and easy to maintain. D.E. filters are more expensive and require more maintenance, but they are also very good at filtering out small particles.

You should avoid filling your pool overnight—just as a precaution. You’ll want someone around to check on the progress. If your hose springs a leak or you overfill your pool, you could end up with some costly water damage. At worst, you could flood your home’s foundation. For this reason, ensure someone is home and awake, even if your pool takes a couple of days to fill.

A fiberglass pool lasts up to 30 to 50 years with proper maintenance. For the longest possible lifespan, keep your pool water pH as close to seven as possible. Test your water levels regularly, run your pool filter daily, and avoid draining the pool. Once your pool is 20 to 30 years old, you can prolong the lifespan by refinishing the shell.
